And I would add to your list; watching TV, following mainstream popular culture (music, movies, sports, and other forms of "entertainment"), and wearing clothing that displays brand labels and/or slogans. Oh, and believing that being in paid employment is intrinsically morally virtuous - regardless of what actions the employment involves - and that being voluntarily "unemployed" is intrinsically immoral. Nearly 90 years ago Aldous Huxley prophesized the future of humanity, without any inkling of an understanding as to what technologies may exist in modernity, but... he understood people... people are animals, predictable as the execution of computer-code.. and he was eerily accurate as to what modernity would present to Earth. The technology is irrelevant, but the behavioristic impulses of the Human Ape are easily chartable, at least for geniuses such as Mr. Huxley, allowing such accurate abstractions of the future. Brave New World is one of my favorite books.. a road in to depressive-nihilism in some ways.. but his book "The Divine Within" is a good antidote to much of the nihilism generated through certain understandings. I recommend all to read through it, at least, if you are interested in spirituality and of a scientific-mind.

I hope you know what you're talking about, i don't. The US is not a democracy. Democracy basically = mob rule. Mob rule is exactly the direction the leftist dems, and the leftist media, and leftist Hollyweird, and the leftist Federal government is taking this country. They in combination make a very effective operation, their effectiveness, is similar to the effect compounding, or exponential numerical growth. This is not new, Solzhenitsyn described it well, I'd describe it similarly to how a frog becomes gradually boiled in a pot, he absolutely would not allow himself to stay in a boiling pot if dropped in it, however, if the temperature increases gradually he becomes to comfortable, and lazy to jump out; he simply get comfortable, and cooks..

There is entertainment that can be morally enriching rather than degrading, but the important thing I feel like is to be self-aware of your comfort zone. Making small efforts to end bad habits, making small efforts to healthy ways living, and all the while getting used to doing uncomfortable things that are for your own good. Freedom means deciding for yourself how you navigate that, and being self aware of your limits and potential so as to have the courage to move forward.

@robwilde8553 жыл бұрын
I know what you mean! Here's something that may help us to understand it: One of the things that the study of human psychology has unearthed that could be really useful, is the startling fact that about 6 percent of people are born with brains that have no region for processing feelings of empathy or compassion. This is technically the essence of the psychopath, which is a term we associate with one-in-a-million serial killers, but in fact most of this 6 percent, through lack of opportunity, or through laziness, or by following other self-interest, never develop this far - the worst they achieve are things like divorce, because they are eventually found to be too selfish for any kind of successful or healthy relationship. However, the important thing is that for those who happen to be ambitious, their qualities bring them success in fields that involve control, such as the police, military, politics, medicine, teaching, etc, and with each promotion the percentage at that level of these 'congenitally-possible-psychopaths' increases, so that at the top levels, members of parliament, chief constables, generals, presidents, CEOs of companies, and so on, the percentage can be 40 or 50; and although they have a naturally developed knack of appearing normal, indeed personable, to normal folk, among themselves they tend to instinctively recognize each other's qualities, and begin to combine in ever-more powerful ways to create the 'control-situations' that are the only things that are able to give them deep satisfaction that they crave. Remember, the tender feelings that we have about each other, in giving and receiving love, that bring us the deepest kinds of satisfaction, are unfortunately totally unkown to them. Sorry to go on - but it has seemed very relevant to me, since first learning about it from a book entitled 'Ponerology' by a Polish psychologist who, before escaping to the US, with colleagues in the 50s and 60s treated many Soviet psychopaths, and was one of the first scientists to realize this fact. It is a startling fact, as I said, but it does explain history and the present wonderfully well.

Historically, those who want or think they are qualified to decide what's best for mankind end up killing mass amounts of people. Even in the millions. It allways happens. @River They can be found with effort. It's obvious that they will not be made apparent. Their names are repressed to rarely ever hear of them and it continues to get easier for them with technological advancement.. Simply look at the one thing that ties all of us plebes together. Money. Who controls the money supply? Surprisingly not, given a background check, what ties most of them together? There's a common denominator. Once you figure that out, start using this denominator and compare it to the owners of big brands, especially in the media, who we all already know are the controlled propaganda arm of the government. Even further, look into that fateful event that happened almost 20 years ago in September. Owners of those buildings. There's a pattern. Go find it.
