I kid you not this episode changed the way I live, particularly when I take a bath. It had never occurred to me that wiping alone wasn’t taking care of all the, um, doo doo. I began washing the areas before a soak. After a good rinse, I would clean the tub before filling it with water. Then and only then would I relax into the tub. It’s a lot easier now that my tub and shower are separate. I have a bidet which does a better job than just toilet paper. I also clean my shower floor almost every day. Just a spray around with some diluted Lysol all purpose cleaner and a rinse. Once a week the bleach and scrub brush are used for deep cleaning.

You would enjoy being cleaned with water after each use of the loo. You can use a regular large plastic water bottle and your hand (usually the opposite of your normal eating hand), or a watering can, like from a garden. It helps keep infections away. It's also just better spiritually.

I remember watching this when it was first aired. Great 'entertainment' judging other people and having a laugh. Now I realise that people with homes like this often have low self esteem, depression or have suffered some sort of loss in their life. It now seems a bit cruel watching this lady being admonished and lets face it, humiliated. Yes she signed up for the show but it doesn't feel nice to see.

A lot of 2000s TV was the same when you look back in hindsight. Fat Families, Benefits Street, Jeremy Kyle... In this case, her behaviour and a few things she says/does makes me reckon she's neurodivergent, which especially in women is so often just brushed off as "eccentric". Kim and Aggie treat her very nicely themselves, but the way in general the show pokes fun isn't great.

Oh I loved this show so much ♥️. Never loved the shaming part but that's how it all was for entertainment back in the day, no one took it too seriously either, like we do today. Watching this now, Georgina seems to be neurodivergent (I am too), and I feel so bad for how seriously she may or may not be understanding what's said to her. I hope it didn't affect her too much in a negative way and hope she's doing fine. Other than that, I hope that she found a way to navigate whatever negativity brought her to this state of the home and mind. 🤞
@RachaelMorgan-om4xw
@RachaelMorgan-om4xw 2 ай бұрын
Georgina looked petrified throughout, poor lass! Clearly she felt overwhelmed by the brutal invasion of her privacy. For Pete's sake, she is a timid and very private person: being exposed like this; and the brutal treatment of Georgina, by Kim and Aggie, was insupportable. Their bullying of Georgina, who was shaking with anxiety, did not seem to register with K&A. Shame on them. And shame on the well-fed sister; who no doubt arranged the whole TV deal, excacerbating Georgina's anxiety, instead of making sure her 98lb sister's 19th nervous breakdown was ameliorated.

@Sibernethy
@Sibernethy 2 ай бұрын
She's straight up neurotic. Stress is undoubtedly involved. Something's gone very wrong in her head. Her identical twin doesn't live the way she does and that's very telling. A professional cleaner that lives in a dirty, filthy home is not only a red flag mentally, it's an occupational and public safety risk, since anything she's carrying on her as she goes out the house may contaminate other people's homes as well. As Aggie once said, tidy house, tidy head. The woman in this episode has not got a tidy head, that's for sure.

@@djlivvy46 I’m definitely not saying her sister has ADHD but something about her cadence sounds off. I don’t know what it is but it’s not quite right. Things sometimes run in families, sometimes they don’t. Loss, trauma, mental health issues, caring for others affected by it, etc. Your own coping mechanism is not the same as other people's coping mechanism. I truly hope you never find out how houses get this way. You can never know what people are going through. I'm a late diagnosed autistic and due to autistic burnout I fell into suicidal depression. Since I didn't know, I had no strategy for, well, living life. I'm not a dirty person because I freak out just thinking of germs 😅 but I struggled in so many other ways. Georgina appears to be neurodivergent in some way. My elder family member had mental health problems they didn't suspect they had their entire life. Nor did anyone else. We sometimes cleaned their place, but the cause was never addressed. The person's behaviour was ridiculed. (As was mine). Eventually the person departed this world earlier than we expected. Please don't judge people. We are such complex beings. No one ever said it's an excuse. People sometimes simply just stop caring about being healthy, clean or even alive. It has nothing to do with laziness either as this woman clearly does a great job at other people's houses. Messy people see, feel and mind the mess very very much. Often they don't feel like they deserve a clean place, or it's just so overwhelming to even start, or they don't think there's a point in doing it. It's a vicious unhappy cycle. The society can only benefit from not writing oblivious comments. I have my moments too, we all do. But sometimes, just rather don't.

It's clear that this woman had a mental condition, most likely ADHD.

Thank you so much for uploading these Lesser Spotted Episodes! ❤ This used to be one of my favourite shows back in the day, and I've been wanting to see this episode for years because I remember it being mentioned in the Radio Times.

My face was literally in frozen shock for a solid couple mins watching her pick up those mouse carcasses. Bare handed🫣 I couldn't move 😮
