In 2009 I had 3 major hip surgeries that laid me up for over 8 months, leaving my husband to do almost all of the housework on his own. I used to clean homes for a living when I was younger, and my grandma was a taskmaster as I was growing up under her guidance - and keeping a clean home was important to me. Being laid up so long was hard on me and I stressed constantly about the state of our home. Luckily we were empty nesters by then. I found this show on HGTV and binge watched episodes when I stressed about the cleanliness of our home. I immediately felt relief because, at it's worst, our house was never nearly as bad as any of your before jobs! You saved my sanity! I kept telling myself that our place was immaculate! Thank you ladies for your love of clean. You have educated many folks on both sides of the pond.❤️ I am, once again, watching your adventures while I await yet another surgery.

I LOVE watching these shows for sentimental reasons, when my kids were little, we’d put these shows on and listen to them as we cleaned our house. They’re all grown now and have their own houses, but we still love to watch them to have a little chuckle. I love how Kim especially and Aggie are so nonjudgmental towards people, they’re just there to help them. You know everyone’s house gets messy, and sometimes it gets really messy, or sometimes it may just get ahead of you and you feel overwhelmed and so you end up not doing anything at all. It’s ok, just find what inspires you to clean. Mine is flowers, and my husband, I like to clean my little home really pretty and put fresh cut flowers around the house, also, I love it when my husband comes home from work and the house is bright and beautiful and the kitchen smells good with a nice dinner. I feel loved and appreciated when I make my home a warm and welcoming place. It may never be up to some peoples standard of museum quality spotlessness, but we do have dogs, chickens, gardens projects, and piles of books, and it’s satisfying to us.

@Norma Jean I work full time (shift work with irregular hours) and I'm currently studying for a work exam on top of that. I live with two men who aren't exactly the cleanest people (hubby and brother). They are my family. This house is always clean. It takes an hour and half max for me to vacuum and mop a three bedroom home every weekend. I'm drained. I'm tired. Everyone gets that way. I still clean my house and so do most people! No excuse! It's really not that hard! If you put your rubbish in the bin, do the dishes nightly and work piece by piece through the home daily, you really make light work of it. If she had a disability or impairment, that would be a different story. She is perfectly able bodied. It's sheer laziness. Oh and btw, I used to be a full time cleaner myself and I managed to keep my house clean when I got home. I'm 25 and I take great pleasure in keeping my house clean. It's a dying art. @lorimav6 жыл бұрын
@@frankboff1260 You are right her friends were concerned for her and wanted to help. Someone who reported her might have risked her father being sent to a nursing home. Even living in the mess, I believe her father still would have preferred living at home and with the company of his daughter. Her friend might have just said to her, let's clean the kitchen well and the two of them could have done it together and then maybe gone on to the dining room or her dad's room at a later date. I've known about the toothbrush thing for a very long time, and haven't kept mine in the bathroom for over 20 years. I also buy and use a new toothbrush every two weeks because I know that the human mouth is one of the germiest places in the world. The old toothbrushes are used for fine scrubbing around the sink and toilet, and then are thrown away after that one use. Dollar store toothbrushes are also well worth spending money on for cleaning the house, and I do that, too (I actually have bought out my local dollar store of cleaning sponges and brushes several times...better to use cheap ones and throw the dirt and germs away with the rest of the trash).

This episode is 10 years old. I hope she kept it clean! Her dad seemed very sweet, probably not around anymore.

I REALLY need them to help my grandmother! I've spend my whole life trying to get her house clean, now being 21 no luck! Now it's not as bad as some I've seen them clean but still it a MESS!!
