I live in good ole Texas and during the summer, our AC went out. We went without AC up until mid July and I noticed the tension in our house was insane. Everyone was temperamental and easily agitated. It made sense, it was the heat. Then, my sister and I decided to paint her room and it got so hot we were soaked and became delusional. Later we got AC because you can't go without AC for too long in Texas, and it was insane how just a change in our home climate, changed our behavior. Lesson: Take care of the AC unit because heat will make you crazy.

My mother lived her whole life near the Gulf Coast of TX without AC. She never went crazy. I was raised in the same house with fans and attic fans for "AC". I'm not crazy. I kind of like the heat. Sweating is a natural thing and it's good for you (to a limit). My AC went out last July. It took a month to get a tech to come fix it. In the meantime I put a cheap little window unit in the bedroom and opened the windows everywhere else in the house. It felt pretty good to work outside, where it's really hot, and come into the house. Life with AC is over rated...

What we are facing facing is climate change due to human activity. It's proven by science, wheather you like it or not, accept it or not. The concearn about this process is that it is not a normal, geologycal time process development, natural climate change takes thousands if not tens of thousands of years. We've changed the earth'a natural temperatures and atmospheric conditions in a matter of 150 years. It's not warming process or the excesive contamination what worries us, it's the accelerated rate of these events, we have no possible way of enduring these changes and adapt in a matter of decades for what is coming and what already started, such as lack of water and food supplies for entire cities, sinking coast towns and cities like Indonesia's capital Jakarta, several simultaneous tornados and tropical storms in usual and unusual locations, historic and unprecedented heat waves all across the globe, and so on. That's happening now, not even going to mention what will happen if we pass the 1.5 degree celsius limit stated in the 2018 IPCC report. It's a shame that people are made to worry so much by "experts" about an issue that is largely out of our control. The climate has been changing for millions of years, the only thing we can do is plan on it and make plans to deal with potential disasters. The fear mongering IS THE GREATER WORRY ITSELF and people have hijacked a natural occurrence in order to get people and children worry, and to buy things and focus on their own political agenda's no matter how detrimental it is to our lives today. The immutable reality is that the climate will change regardless of any of our efforts to reign in pollution but the more immediate threat that we do have control over is the "HOW" we prepare for climate change and the ideas around the "HOW" are causing loss of life and hurting the welfare of people around the world today. These short sighted misguided plans are far more dangerous than any natural disaster from climate change that any of us have ever experienced. Whenever you think of the "experts" just remember these are the "experts" who said the shots were safe... and now we find out their not. These are the experts who have been misinforming us throughout history, in fact, it's very hard to find ANYTHING that the "experts" were right about at all. Don't worry about what they say, just do what is reasonable to reduce pollution on your own, keep your own disaster packs ready at home, sort out your relationship with God and people and don't worry, because you've done the best you can if you do those things. Worrying and arguing with people is not going to fix anything.

It's definitely anxiety provoking when people with the loudest voices and biggest platforms; unquestionably take every single climate alarmist prediction as absolute truth. Soley as a means to support their activism, and try to scare the general population into thinking the way they do. Without ever trying to determine "what is the truth here?".
@FrancoSciaraffia5 жыл бұрын
Can you imagine if simply having the truth being available would generate all the actions necessary to proportionally respond to the gravity of the situation? Sad part is the truth about how it is going to be increasingly harder for larges portions of the world to just live as they used to 100 or 20 years prior doesn't provoke any reaction, if at all, from governments or corporations. So the only logical counter-reaction is to spread the truth "harder". Because things need to change, before change is inevitable forced upon us. And of course, if you have enough money to surf the wave, this might not be a big deal for you. If you have heating for winter and AC for summer, if you can afford increasingly expensive food, then climate change "alarmism" might seem unnecessary to you. Long story short: there are too many people placing unbearable burden on our precious (because we don't have spare) planet. The most fittest societies will win, so prepare yours. And mercy is all good, but before offering it, ask yourselves if you would get any, given the case of circumstances backwards. Especially in the case of short sighted societies who destroyed their livelihood for no apparent reasons other than greed and stupidity.

People have anxiety, it has been around forever. Raise your hand if you have several decades on this planet. I remember when it was child abduction, terrorism, nuclear war, Donald Trump. Whatever is in the news cycle creates anxiety in a certain group, the real issue is the news cycle. All of these have given folks similar anxiety to what is described here. This entire talk moves us away from fact based discussion into nonsense. 4 years ago I watched the debates, Democrats had a thoughtful discussion about the important topics of the day while the Republicans had a middle school food and insult fight. What has happened to the Democrats over the last 4 years? I don't even recognize the party any more. Get your proverbial $#!+ together!

Well, this hit the nail on the head in many ways. Too bad it's not just climate change affecting our mental health. I went to high school during the recession of 2008. Our cause of hopelessness was a poor economy. Would we be able to find jobs upon graduating? Could we afford college? Was the recession ever going to end? Nowadays, while yes climate change is on my mind, I also worry about raising children amongst rape culture, eventual economic collapse, and political upheaval. I worry I won't have health insurance to ensure a healthy pregnancy. In fact, I worry those unborn children won't have health insurance either. The fact, it's just not a good time to have a baby. They don't deserve to grow up with all the problems we have caused. It's not their problem to fix, it's ours.

Well I believe that taking care of our mental health is important, the focusing on these events due to the amount of information that is transmitted quickly seems to be much of what brings this issue to people, in my opinion. This video seems to contain climate alarmism, quoting facts and statistics that have been dispelled by actual climate scientists. I believe that the trauma from events that happen are real, but anxiety from impending doom is not resolved by such alarmism.

THATS what I'm saying, at least for myself. There's already been two ice-ages: climate change has always been a thing. Instead of worrying about it maybe we should work on ourselves and help others be their best and achieve their goals, and as good decisions stack and gain momentum, people will inherently choose better for the overall. But I dunno. It's just what faith and psychology both agree on. What do I know? 😏. Bless you!
