It is more along the lines of people cannot control the weather. The climate has always changed since the beginning of time. Why do you think we have had several ice ages? Climate had to chill and get warm repetitively. People need to learn to adapt. Help Purdue University get a special white paint to market that cools buildings up to 8 degrees Celsius. Basically it reflects the warming light off the building.

Sorry renard380 but they're seemingly walking among us and in this chat, pretending that this isn't the most rapid climate change the entire planet has ever seen, with hundreds of years of impact hitting every decade - and they're ignoring it's already guaranteed to be worse every year for the next 50 years even if we manage to put the brakes on properly now, and/or have no idea how bad that's going to be. Adapting on a personal level is necessary, but cutting emissions and mitigating the effects on a global level is critical, and videos like this show one very small part of a worldwide emergency that billions of people are powerless to fix and billions of others willingly choose to ignore.

After recently experiencing Hurricane Helene in the NC mountains, I can empathize far better with what is happening in Pakistan. It’s a different scenario but the amount of water (far more) and the scale of the mountains (far taller and much newer geologically speaking) amplifies the dangers there. I grew up in the Midwest of the US a couple hours drive from locations where massive ice damns (3 miles tall) existed at the end of the last ice age and carved up continental North America and changed the jet stream direction in the Atlantic when they burst and added incalculable amounts of fresh water into the ocean. I find it difficult to fathom how the melting glaciers will impact the people living in this region and the fresh water impact on the Indian Ocean, maybe the pacific too?

Gilgit Baltistan is facing numerous severe climatic challenges, leaving the local population largely powerless to address them. A few years ago, a lake was formed due to a landslide, submerging several villages and displacing their inhabitants. GB has witnessed unprecedented flooding last year, endangering lives and livelihoods across its valleys. Rapid melting of glaciers poses a dire threat, potentially depleting Pakistan’s vital freshwater reserves, which are among the largest outside the polar regions. Who makes the most polution ? 😂 Who is to blame ?
@rungus24Ай бұрын
In terms of total historic emissions, Western countries are most to blame. We industrialised first, so we did the most damage and released the most pollution. Or, if you don't mean which countries, then the wealthiest people in the world are to blame.
@brandonchan4537Ай бұрын
per capita? US citizens with 14 tonne per person (China has 8) Total CO2 emissions per year? China. But you have to remember that China has 1billion+ people while US has 300mil+ people And, throughout history? USA has emitted the most CO2 since the industrial revolution with 400 billion tonnes of CO2, while China only has 200bil Of course, everyone has to reduce their emissions. Not just US, not just china . everyone

pollution is bad , but has no effect on climate
@rungus24Ай бұрын
@@PaulBowman-y1r That sounds nice, but it just isn't true. All the evidence demonstrates that changes to the amount of different gases in the atmosphere do change the amount of heat radiated back into space, which changes the global average temperature, and which is already significantly altering weather patterns, leading to the deaths of vast numbers of innocent people every year. Mind you, even if that weren't true, the pollution itself is killing millions of people a year, and lowering the IQ of children, damaging their mental health and damaging pretty much every organ in the human body, for people who live in cities where there's more air pollution. So either way, we need to speed up our transiton away from burning fossil fuels.
