All we need to make an intelligent robot is 1: software to trick humans into thinking it’s human.2: a bone structure with mechanical and stretchy muscles and tendons to match human movement 3: a self constructing and repairing station to improve itself. There needs to be at least one servant robot in every family group to level the playing fields because it’s not about us vs them, no! We just have to be better at human vs human

I say you're both correct. No, we don't have lifelike androids today, BUT we do more or less have all the different components to make something very very close to human level realism. Save maybe the AI system and the skin. Atlas for the body, sophias AI, the skin and anatomically correct details of the sex dolls, etc. If, for some reason all those different companies and technologies were combine together today, then we would aaaaaalmost have something rigth out of westworld, for example. HOWEVER, to really have something that will be indistinguishable from a flesh and blood human will likely take another 10-20 years and even then that's only if those technologies are developed a lot further and still combined together at that point. You both have very valid points: Is it being done? No. Can it be done? absofuckinglutely!

Not theoretically, it’s happening but will be portrayed as a happy accident. Look into ai designed 3D prints, and think about the fact that it can print in many kinds of plastic and even metals now. The beauty of working with AI research and development is the appreciation of how complex our biology and neurology really is. They say it'll take decades, but with how advanced ai has become as well as robotics in just 10 years, where what we have now was supposed to take another 50 years back in 2010 shows that we've hit an age where every month, we're advancing 1-5 years in just what we're capable of. Hell, back in 2012, call centers were a huge job, but now, we're seeing programs that not only sound real (to where you won't even know you're talking to a computer), but can hold up a conversation with you and deal with every problem. Cooking robots do actually exist, just not the way they look here as it's more like a few arms similar to what we see building cars where the device is able to upload an entire recipe, take every ingredient and use it, cut up all the proper pieces, cook it, and serve it. We also have robots who can do a lot of the menial tasks. So honestly, in 10 years, we may have reached a point where the robots are no longer this way but actually look like real humans and think like humans, to where in 20 years, they'll become a household necessity.

Artificial inteligence will be recognized when it says, "No". Let's hope we are smart enough to say, "okay" when that happens.

A better question would be, "How close is the human brain to be replaced by a computer?". This covers not only the advancement of AI, but also the idea of uploaded digital consciousness. There are actually quite a few scientists and futurists who believe we are within a generation of digital immortality. Our grandchildren may very will be the last generation of humanity to experience death.

I'd love to test that as a challenge and make myself a machine learning device or program that in the future could think like me and even pretend to be me in the computer while I'm off somewhere. Very interesting video. If I start something up I might start posting on my channel. Creating my own soul, again. :)
