Just got a cockatiel about three weeks ago, he is only about 3 months old today. He is very friendly and likes cuddling and scratches on the head, I don’t think he has a favorite person. However, he does tend to like and feel more comfortable around me than other people. But he will still stick with another person. I give him millet sprays on the weekend and when he does something nice like sing because well he doesn’t really sing yet but I’m not sure if that’s because he is still adjusting or because he’s really young. I think a big reason he adjusted quickly is due to the millet sprays, because of the millet sprays he quickly became attached to me and other people who gave him millet spray. So to sum it all up I think millet sprays/any treat is a great way to bond with your cockatiel and make it comfortable and love you.

I spend the most time with my cockatiels, feed them, give them toys and play time, they sleep on my shoulder or foot on nap time, I'm who cleans up their cage and around..... But they both love Daddy, as soon he comes home 🤔😅 what to do...?

Nothing To Do Because They Know Their Daddys Attention Is Not Given To Them Much But You Give Them So Much Attention They Have Normalized You Like Little Kids Who Jump When They See a Gues If you Give less Attention Then The Opposite Happen Neither Ways Keep Giving Them Attention 👍

I guess i am lucky i am the only adult in the house so i take care of the birds. But everything does take time. My first bird took to my hand right away. My 2nd comes to me when in the mood too . I think it also depends on personality and where you get your birds from how they were cared for before makes a difference

My husband and I rescued a Cockatiel that was being abused. I immediately fell in love with KiKi the second she was brought in. My husband liked KiKi. KiKi picked me to be her special friend. I spent lots of time with KiKi. The only thing I could not do is ruffle her feathers with my hand. KiKi was chased inside her cage by a 4 year old. When KiKi came to us, her cage was made of wood and shaped like a Japanese house. KiKi's feathers were broken and missing and I thought KiKi's feathers would not come back. I thought for sure the feathers inside of her would never come out. KiKi's feathers took a year or so before they started to look much better. KiKi's trust started to be better within 6 months. I was very patient, loving, kind and I gave KiKi time to decompress from what she went through. KiKi loved the entire family, but I was her chosen person. R.I.P. sweet KiKi. Fly free!
