How could RFA Argus and RFA Lyme Bay support Israel?

Two Royal Navy vessels, set to be deployed to support Israel, are alongside in Gibraltar ahead of setting sail to the eastern Mediterranean.
The Prime Minister directed RFA Argus and RFA Lyme Bay to the region, with both vessels originally set to be deployed to Oman for the UK Commando Forces' inaugural Littoral Response Group South deployment.
Instead, the ships have been redirected and are now in Gibraltar, with the naval base regularly welcoming ships transiting through the region.
The ships are heading to the region to help support humanitarian efforts and reinforce stability.

I think it's the Palestinians that are in need of help, not Israel, again and again. If the latter stopped forcibly annexing Palestinian land, maybe the violence would stop. It's about time the world and especially the United States stood up to Israel.

Totally agree, as soon as I heard the word deterrent, I thought what are they on about these are lightly armed support ships. Unfortunately though, our navy is no so small that whenever anything happens we have no naval combat episodes to deploy, because what little is left is committed or in refit.

These ships are to evacuate Brits and casualties. It's a humanitarian operation. It's unlikely that anyone on board is from the British Army. Some Royal Marines, probably some RN medics and RFA.... uniformed civilians. When did the BA last support a "fascist" regime, anyway?

The Israelis need no help. My uncle was one of the 750 British service people killed by the Zionist gangs in 1947 defending Palestinian people (of all religions). The year I was born. I would suggest you read some real history not just the latest tragedy.
