Oh, I’m so sad you missed this in the theaters. If you think the ocean and underwater scenes look good now, they were incredible in the theater! 3D, no less. But I’m glad you’re enjoying it now.

This was definitely worth the 13 years wait in my opinion. I watched this in IMAX 3D and it was so incredibly beautiful my theatre was packed and loud. James Cameron should set up a museum of all the different props and cameras that he shot or used to film his historic movies. He should call it "Cameron's Cameras and More"

I love what they did with Quaritch in this movie. He has the human Quaritch’s memories but he is very much his own person. He shows more sympathy towards Spider than the human Quaritch ever would. James Cameron said in an interview that Quaritch crushed ”his” human skull as he has an identity crisis. He is coded to act certain way but doesn’t want to be what his memories make of him. I’m so excited to see his character development in the future movies.

There are very few artists who can *truly* take you out of the seats of your theater and put you into a world entirely of their creation, James Cameron is the best of them all. If Avatar is James Cameron’s Star Wars then The Way Of Water is his Empire Strikes Back. And like Empire and so many other great second parts of sagas Part 2 is where the heroes get their asses kicked and are at their absolute lowest. Jake and Neytiri lose a son, the Metkayina not only lose a few villages but also have their friends the Tulkun (whales) slaughtered, and now the RDA has dug in such a foothold that the war for Pandora will only get bloodier. I was tearing up within only a few minutes of this film, not because of anything tragic but because of the absolutely breathtaking beauty of Pandora. I was also tearing up because when the first movie came out, I took my mom who was 60 at the time it came out in theaters, she was so entranced by the movie at times I could see from the corner of my eye her trying to grab the tree seeds floating towards her. It’s one of my favorite memories. She sadly passed away seven years ago, but I know she would’ve loved this movie, even more because she was a champion swimmer who love the water with all her heart. And so with all my heart, I think you, James Cameron for creating yet another masterpiece of a film.👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

I think the reason why Kiri is like that is because her Mothers Avatar was connected to Eywa when she passed. And remember when they said that they didn't even knew her Avatar was pregnant, I think that Kiri is the daughter of Eywa.

I understand wanting to wait to react to this on KZbin, but I don’t think any of us would be upset if you watched future avatars in the theater. You have to watch them in 3-D on the big screen. It’s so much more than just a movie. You feel like you are in the world. Low and behold, it’s officially 1 year old!!! This was just as good as the first movie 3 hours is long but James Cameron has come a long way with the motion capture technology The CGI looks smoother, the underwater scenes are breathtaking, and I appreciate the introduction of the Water tribe with its own philosophy It's all about the escape and spectacle wanting live on this world of Pandora A story that's predictable and not a game changer but the sheer visual majesty is utterly spectacular with the environments, the creatures, and the cinematography An engaging cinematic experience and most of the characters get their own proper arcs even if it’s more of the same Sam Worthington is better here and Zoe Saldana has the best acting next to the young daughter Curious how the next 4 movies will expand given Cameron wants to go further

James Cameron planned four sequels to the first Avatar, and now all 4 sequels to the first Avatar are finished and all of them have release dates, The whole reason why Avatar 2 took so long to come out was because James Cameron was filming Avatar 2, 3, 4, and 5 back to back

The film is one big filler, starting with the words: the war will threaten my children, and ending with the words: my children can only be protected by war. At the same time, nothing plot-important happened during the film. In the first part, Jake freed an entire planet. Here he was able to destroy one whaling ship and that with difficulty. Quaritch is alive, people are settling in, Jake's son is dead, but who cares - that's the whole outcome of the film. And I'm also very annoyed with the new Jake. In the past, he was a strong leader capable of raising entire nations to war. He had the power and authority that would allow the Na'vi to master new methods of warfare, prepare them for the arrival of people - and this would happen 100% sooner or later. In the end, he simply abandoned his people, who, just like the islanders, could have been brought to their knees with a gun to their temples to find out where he flew. I wouldn't be surprised if the entire Neytiri tribe has already been hung from trees.

While the visual effects are obviously incredible and an improvement over the 2009 film, they _aren't_ 13 years worth of improvement. James Cameron could've made this film just as stunning in say, 2016, and probably have the third film close to release by now. Much like George R.R. Martin, there's being a perfectionist, and then there's just being a lazy prick.
