You definitely should watch This is Spinal Tap, as you get to see Reiner, himself, in the film. Plus its an hilarious movie 🙂.

I watched this the first time with my Maori bf. She watched it in silence and then said she grew up near there, and this was "watered down for the movie," and proceeded to tell me about her youth. 😢 my heart breaks when I see this film, but it is SOOO necessary. The book is amazing

I am a Kiwi. This movie and its source novel still impact us here. It showed a reality of NZ many are not shown nor many understand. Thank you for reviewing this.

I've been kinda obsessed with this movie since the first time I saw it back in 199x... amazing movie, so raw, but far more realistic than most of the movies out there.

Rob Reiner may have directed it, but it was written by Aaron Sorkin. Who also wrote The Social Network, Jobs, and many others including my personal favorite, Moneyball.

On my 51st birthday this year Temeurra Morrison played the guitar at a pop culture VIP event whilst several big name international celebrities sang happy birthday to me. He’s an absolutely wonderful person. This movie shows what a great actor he is. I have a photo of him and me holding a lightsaber to his chest. Was such a fun day. But I also watched this movie when it was first released and it was hard to watch what happened to grace but rewarding what Jake did to bully.

As a New Zealander I remember going to the cinema to watch this movie. Even grown men were in tears. It's so heartbreaking knowing this is how it is for many women in our country, not just our beautiful Maori Wahine, domestic violence is suffered across the board in New Zealand. :(
