How does the purple cod taste compared to a barra cod(if you guys remember or recently consumed) Don't think it will be fair to compare it with a coral or coronation trout?

Haven’t tried a Barra cod unfortunately but I hear they are hard to beat! Definitely different to a trout. Lots of fat like other cod, we love them!

@@sailingpopao tough to be no doubt. Man, with kind of pristine reef and abundance life, you guys should do a taste test comparison between few species of snappers and trouts. Like what you did previously with the crustaceans. Surely some of us would appreciate that 😅

Congratulations on the Coronation Trout, the Purple Cod looked mighty tasty too! Quick question though, when you bleed the fish in the water, don't you up your chances of the Ocean Tax Collectors coming in to claim their share? - Curious in Canada
@sailingpopao3 жыл бұрын
Thanks! They are both really tasty fish. There is usually always sharks around or close by, the struggling of a fish already is a huge dinner bell, we think the blood is literally just adding another drop in the ocean so to speak!
@canucklehead03 жыл бұрын
@@sailingpopao Thank-you, I was very curious as I've seen this practice of bleeding the fish out, done by many Spearfishers on KZbin. It make sense to bleed the animal out, but to do it in such close proximity to active predators has made me wonder about the risks. Take care, and have fun!!
@sailingpopao3 жыл бұрын
No worries, happy to help! The small extra risk in our opinion is worth the huge extra eating qualities of the fish.

I am (probably irrationally) terrified of sharks. Seeing one swim up on ya is freaky. Any tips? Just bop them in the nose?
@sailingpopao3 жыл бұрын
Definitely a bop on the nose where all their receptors are is *usually* more than enough to let the shark know who's boss. If you see one swimming erratically, pec fins pointed down, back arched that's when we get a bit concerned and keep on high alert, more often than not just move spots. Good luck!
