I’m a Messi fan, through and through. Rode with him through that difficult period in the mid 2010’s where he lost 3 international finals in a row, as well as the disappointment that was the 2018 WC. I remember how people mocked him, called him average in the Argentina shirt, criticized the 💩 out of him, disrespected his name and accomplishments, both individual and collective with Barcelona. And at the time, CR7 had 2 international trophies to his name. They were praising him for winning something for the national team. But, my oh my, have the tables turned. I honestly don’t agree with the disrespect, that Messi got the previous decade, and that Ronaldo is receiving now that he has disappointed in the last 2 major international tournaments.
