Does that mean every person pretending to be an FBI agent is secretly a woman?

This is way back in the early days of cell phones and when text TV was still a thing in Denmark. Text TV on one TV station created a chat. You could sent a text so your phone number was connected with a chat name and then you chatted away on text TV. I met several people I became friends with that way and visited in real life. At one point I started chatting with a guy who called himself JL. That chat went well for weeks and he asked for my real phone number. I was about to give it to him when I one day sat there looking at the chat. A guy called The Baker was online and chatting with people. I had noticed that JL and The Baker had a similar way of writing but they always claimed different background stories when asked. However, this day he messed up and got his two characters mixed together. The Baker gave JL's background story to a woman and that was how I figured out I was being catfished and that it probably wasn't a good idea to give JL my number because I had no idea who was behind the screen. This text TV chat had an option where you could send a text with another person's chatname and they would get "beeped" which meant them getting a message on their phone about another chatter wanting them to come to the chat. I tried beeping JL while watching The Baker on my screen. To no surprise I got a message back that there was no user by the name JL. Later that day when JL started chatting, I tried beeping The Baker. No user called The Baker. I called him out on screen in front of everyone watching. So many people had seen both names in the chat and would know this person was not one to continue talking to. He then tried to claim that he and The Baker were real life friends and they both always deleted their chat names from their phones when they weren't chatting. No one bought that.

I don't know if you can call it being catfished. I write fanfiction and post them online. I've done for over a decade now. Well, around 10 years ago, I met some people on a website. One was named Z. I talked to her for a while. Then I found someone else called A. As I recall, they both posted stories on there. The interesting thing was that A was a guy. I had never met a guy on a fanfiction site and assumed everyone were female, so I was surprised, but pleasently so. Z and A knew each other, apparently. As I recall, I used to talk to Z a lot, but the more I talked to A, the less I would talk to Z. A had a very dramatic life. There were people after him, wanting to kidnap him or murder him or all other kinds of bad things. I was skeptical of it, but whenever I tried to ask Z if it was real or not, she would always confirm that it was very real. I remember one time when A hadn't responded for a few days, and then his "grandma" logged on to tell me that he had been kidnapped. All in all, it was quite a story, but the more it developed, the harder it was to believe. I stopped talking to both of them shortly after that. I don't think the person liked me asking how the grandma had logged on.

I was catfished by a girl using pics of when she was skinny. That was the worst first date of my life.

I wouldn't even feel bad about being mean/rude to them for lying to me. They knew this was the outcome. Can't be upset when it happens.

Oh man that sucks!! I understand her insecurity (I'm fat and used to be skinny) but to lie like that, theres just no excuse. I mean, what did she even think was gonna be the outcome?? Lol
