Bingo, Dante immediately knew or Suspected V was Vergil's Human Half only when V fused back with Urizen did Dante get his answer, Dante also figured out that Sid would more or less trick him and Sid had god level power and Dante just went through him like Sid was some chump! The only reason Vergil lost that death battle against Sephiroth was cause Vergil was stabbed and cut in half before his regeneration could take hold, Dante was stabbed in the heart and survived, Dante also figured out just by watching Nero that he was Vergil's son and the Yamato reacting to Nero was the final nail in the coffin to Dante's theory. my point is it is not just In battle they are incredibly intelligent outside of battle

I just wanna come up with a sort of headcannon on how some of these fights would go solely based on how Dante acts in gameplay and cutscenes, no ninth dimensional fanaglary or strange technicalities. for posiden I assume Dante would have a quick and witty talk with him before getting right into the meat and potatoes. Knowing him, he would probably just do a stylish plunge into the water out of pure disrespect before beating posiden on his home turf with relative ease. Now, I'm waiting on playing devil may cry five, so I'm not familiar with his arsenal in that game, but i can assume he would finish up with a saucy strike to posiden with the balrogs, evaporating the water around his fist and putting a hole through the ruler of the waters. for hades, I know that the "ninth dimensional soul" dynamic really comes into play here, but from the perspective of a capcom employee writing this combat encounter, I'd say hades would have a "You are not human, are you?" moment with Dante, the devil hunter brushing off hade's attempts to remove his soul and making some fun of it. besides that, the encounter would be pretty short lived and Dante would finish him quick. Helios, considering that he was knocked out of the air with a normal siege weapon, would absolutely be no match for Dante and there is not a doubt in my mind that he would do some cool over the shoulder shot with ebony, or even throw his sword with some loony tunes ricochets before knocking him out of the air. Dante would absolutely make light of Helios' um ... light; knowing him he would probably just magically summon some sunglasses, put them on, and say "aah, that's better" before doing a 30 hit SSS combo on him. for Hermes, i just want to get one thing off of my chest. Yes, the games do say that certain things have "infinite speed" with complete seriousness, but from the perspective of game designers and writers, just because they throw in the term "infinite" once does not mean that suddenly half the people in universe are faster than infinity. It simply doesn't make sense, by this logic people like Dante and Kratos could be moving around the world in the blink of an eye, finishing up game plots in less than a second, and in general being so powerful it's boring. "Power Scaling" people constantly make illogical stretches like this and it's pretty annoying. game writers like to write cool stuff that's obviously just meant to be mythical mumbo jumbo with little meaning, because they know nobody really cares about that stuff, it's just some obscure item description. Anyway, yeah, Dante does beat Hermes, next question. When it comes to Dante and Zeus, I think that the combination of the legendary devil arm, the sparda, and the well used magical devil arm rebellion come together to make for an even more powerful magical sword than the blade of Olympus, giving Dante a slight upper hand against Zeus. The fight will certainly be hard for Dante because, well, Zeus is the final bass, there's supposed to be some struggle there. In the end Dante comes out on top and wonders why he is even here and how he'll get back home. Big wall of text. If there's anything I overlooked in this, please tell me; I really wanna know, and if there's some part you disagree with then I'd also like to know. Just keep it civil, ya know? Judging by how ape shit dragon ball fans are, I can assume the power scaling crowd can be a little sensitive when it comes to their favorite badass.

Your opinion on the Hermes fight and the use of terms like "infinite" from a design point of view not being absolutely literal made me very happy. You're perhaps one of the only people I've seen who shares that thought process. I remember once saying on a DMC video about this sort of thing that "Pluto crossing infinity" was stupid because it implied he reached an end, that's not how it works, etc, and people got really weirdly butthurt. Called me not a fan of the games and all just because I thought that was silly hyperbole that shouldn't be taken seriously. Also, I agree with everything else. I do think personally that the Devil Sword Dante is just leaps and bounds beyond the Blade of Olympus, which was a titan-killer. Since it has all of tons of Dante's power and all of Sparda's power in it, and both alone were beyond the Titans, it should be no contest. DSD hitting at full force would probably shatter the BoO.

After urizen Dante defeats hades (who gets a power Amp in the underworld) he would likely recombine with rebellion or something similar. So no 9th dementia soul needed

The 9th dimensional statement makes sense lore wise for dmc and is still confirmed cannon by capcom, feels like a stretch if you only play the games and not read other dmc media. But even if we take out the dimension argument both verses have similar statements and feats that can be directly compared, but dante still has a few more feats to stack to put him above the GOW verse.

I think this is highballing for the GoW verse. Pantheons are country level via GoW2018 soft-reboot, and the infinite speed Hermes feat requires more info. Was Helios’s light added after the creation of the underworld, or at the same time? Did it have to travel from one point of the underworld into infinity? Is this even a speed feat, or a feat that describes the illumination of perpetual darkness?

There are various 4d scales for gow even for various hax, thor affecting 9 universes and the world tree which does transcend space and time is actually considered a very blunt feat and yes infinite speed feats do happen and fiction, in fact dante should be immeasurable via being faster than pluto. But despite all this and likely a number of 4d abilities he may of missed for gow dante does stomp the same if not immeasurably stomps all of how as of now.

Even if you tossed out all of the weapons he has, but only kept Ebony, Ivory, and Rebellion, Let's not forget that Dante has an extreme pain tolerance, has-god-like reflexes, and can heal from stab wounds like they're bug bites, the same kind of wounds that have managed to kill Kratos more than once.

Both verses are great in their own right. I think people are too hellbent(pun intended) on the fact that Kratos is a Godkiller. Sure, he’s powerful. One could argue that as a god Kratos’s strength is limitless. But Dante is a whole other beast entirely. The feats Dante alone accomplishes trumps anything Kratos has done. The man can physically move through frozen time. And easily defeats universal threats as if they were mere play things. The closest he’s come to dying was arguably his DMC3 fight with Vergil(before his devil trigger was awakened) and when Urizen knocked him out. Even then he really chose to stay asleep for as long as he did(because ya know, Dante.) If and it’s a big IF any of the Gods pushed him to his devil trigger they’d be mincemeat. Not to mention if it’s his Sin Devil Trigger. Dante is a god in his own right. And the only thing saving Kratos is the petty amusement Dante would get out of seeing if Kratos can actually hurt him.
