When I owned a machine shop,when a customer would say that the guys at summit told me this or that I would just snicker.

Great video, but why is Jack Mcinnis so nervous? It's not like he's being interviewed by the cops after sexually assaulting farm animals.

dawino. How they are assembled & with whitch parts make the difference. Not surprised yours never last more than 2 or 3 runs….. they don't last because they're not built right. LOL.

They're alright as a core. If you want a precisely blueprinted block you'll have to take it to a machinist that actually cares.Dart depends on people who have no tools to check their work. It's just a better core to begin with.

They're great blocks and most racers myself included send the block out to have the bottom end assembled anyway

dawino they don't last because they're not built right. By built I mean the person putting the engine together. I've personally built a half dozen or more SHP's and abuse 2 of them regularly. My problem with SHP's is I can't keep a drive shaft from twisting in half.

I have just now ceased to wonder why SHP's never last more than 2 or 3 runs.....

I don't know what or who is putting your engines together but you better have someone else to do it if you're only getting a couple of runs out of them sir you have a serious problem or somebody does I've raced whole seasons on these very blocks

why do you over in the US still use pushrod 2 valve per cylinder ?,over here in Yurupland we have used OHC and 4 valve for hundeds of years :-).oh and ally blocks as well.

johnik sushibar Look at the GM LS series and look at the Ford Coyotes. The GM push rod engines produce more power stock than the Ford engines, even though the Ford engines are much more advanced with overhead cams. At the end of the day, if you have enough money to put into a Ford, you can overcome the difference. The overhead cams are higher revving, the LS HM engines have more torque and horsepower at lower RPM.
@andersonsspeedshop30517 жыл бұрын
The GM LSX series doesn't produce more hp stock than a coyote in most instances especially when you look at it from a hp/liter perspective, with that being said, The LSX-DR cylinder heads are incredible, flow around 450 cfm intake, which is ridiculous, and L92 truck heads flow like 330 cfm untouched. The coyote heads flow around 300cfm stock with much smaller intake runners, so An overhead cam swap for an lsx with very big split runners would be a huge improvement actually, I believe it is being done already

lose the aussie. do the machining amd inspect in the same place. you're wasting $.
@marklowe74313 жыл бұрын
Even better just use Aussie blocks and heads. They're better anyway. Especially for Ford.
