I’m from the US and I worked for a company in Hamilton just outside of Glasgow. I worked for them for ten years and to my pleasure I spent a lot of time in Scotland. My first visit I was getting in the car with a colleague and he pulled a squeegee out of his boot. I had those cartoon question marks popping up around my head. I have backed everything on the farm as a pre-teen & since 1979 we’ve had camping trailers of varying lengths. My last one was a 4 door, 8 ft box a with a 40’ 5th wheel trailer. I have lots of experience. Took camper to park & set up & husband got off overtime & joined me then. I was the talk amongst the men, not only for backing into site, but knowing I didn’t like where it was, pulled forward & backed 7” over to get it level. I think they thought their wives should do that too.

I grew up on a farm here in NE Colorado, USA, I still reside here, but our family farm was sold several years back. My dad and brothers farmed sugar beets, pinto beans, corn and hay (alfalfa). We also had feeder cattle. I remember one year they received another truck load of cattle - it never failed how they always arrived late at night. There was a couple steers that were sickly and weak, my dad & brothers put them up in the cattle barn. Our veterinarian treated these 2 boys, and I remember the "Doc" so well, such a kind-hearted dr who loved and respected all of God's creatures. He told my sister and I to give the 2 steers some attention everyday, that it would help them to heal. We became very close to those 2 big boys, they became like giant dogs, following us on walks, soaking in all the love we gave them, nuzzling us whenever we stopped loving on them🥰 We named them Frick & Frack, my dad kept those 2 steers, they lived a long and very happy life. I miss them both, watching you provide care for these cattle males my heart happy!! Thanks again!!❤

When I'm deep in my work, focussed on what I'm doing, I feel the same thing. Each programmer has their own specialty, but the part I love the best is when I've taken in what the customer wants, and I'm sitting there nutting out how I'm going to solve it, how the logic is going to work. I love designing the solution. When I'm deep into that, my hands sing. Looking at it from the outside, our fields of work couldn't be any different. Looking at it from the inside, for both of us, our jobs sing.

Following that one crack up and exposing and cleaning it out, is very similar to what I used to do when I worked on cars: when I was doing bodywork, I would find bits and pieces that showed that must was creeping its way down or into some body part. I would take and cut and clean and grind away everything until I got back to fresh metal!

hint: The phrase [ dry out ]. has a second meaning in America. Drying out means trying to stop drinking alcohol forever. Some small towns in America were given local control over alcohol sales. Those that ban the sale of alcohol inside the city limits are called [ dry towns ]

@heatherexcell307810 ай бұрын
@@TheBeardedAtheist I'm in Melbourne, Australia. The climate here is actually pretty similar to SoCal, since we're at roughly the same latitude - except that the seasons are reversed, so it's early autumn here. Today wasn't too bad, about 85°F, although it was pretty warm overnight. But a week ago the temperatures reached well over 100°F during the day, and one night it didn't drop below 80°F. That was not fun. I'd much rather deal with cold and rain than crazy heat and catastrophic fire danger.

Some advice for backing in. If possible, DON'T; I say this because it is always safer to pull through when possible. When possible, back in to the driver's side. Visibility increased dramatically, and the end of the trailer will be a lot easier to keep in the mirrors. Always try and set up for straight backing when you can. If you can't, then try to come at it from a 45º angle. When in doubt, remember GOAL GET OUT AND LOOK.
