@ Everything has to go through the board. The board might even ask shareholders on a vote in certain cases. Usually if a CEO hits a certain stock price target he can be rewarded with extra stock. Even though he might only be able to sell it at a certain time in the future. So the CEO does not benefit from a fluctuation of a higher stock price but has to continually make great returns. In the end it’s about how much money he can make for the company.

I was an apprentice to a draft union in 1980- watching my hall's admin bum fuzzle Local funds to get ingratiated with the State Lege here, a very deep red group even then; that was going on forty years ago, and the sliding only got worse- before I was finished with my apprenticeship, Ronald Reagan had busted the the air traffic controllers union to flinders, and very little was said or done about it- kind of like letting Bad Vlad roll into Georgia and take some goodly pieces of it in 2008. All this while we were prosecuting the Forever Wars against non state actors. Not many peeped when the abortion known as Patriot I & II were passed either- many, some named Clinton and some named Obama voted for it- one fellow in the Senate voted against it- Bernie Sanders. Don't even get me started on the "lean to the right " Bill Clinton, the most business friendly Dem POTUS in my lifetime, possibly longer. You want to know specifics; look no further than how AOC got into Congress and stays there, look no further than Speaker Pelosi telling AOC she must "donate" $300K to the party coffers before she would be allowed to caucus with them and then tell me who made her the maverick she now is. What happened here has been in the making for over forty years- and it was plain to this union plumber way back then it was starting; the DC bubble needed a good rattling, for both sides- give a listen to what RNC leader Steele is saying- traditional Conservatives are pretty unhappy as well- it will take them far longer to get control of their party back. Thom, few people in 1931 Germany actually knew any "mental defectives" either. You are on the right track re the strategy being used, now get to the real meat- the strategy that will take the Democratic Party back to Jimmy Carter's days- because most of what went on after that has only gotten worse for the man and woman in the middle.
