@@dustinbarlow1623they don’t have to be mutually exclusive, they do different things. I love Hardy’s scoring, but hate his ball handling. Spence plays the 1 and Hardy plays the 2. Statistically dinwiddie is a luxury, not many self creating point guards with facilitation who also protect the ball. Those guys are usually the franchise player or an otherwise untouchable asset. Spence has the numbers in his assist/turnover ratio to be in that company of guards. I feel like many fans haven’t caught on to how much he’s helping the offense.
@dustinbarlow162317 күн бұрын
@ I hate his turnovers but we also forget Luka almost lead the league in turnovers his rookie year which drove Carlisle bananas. Young guys have to grow into the PG role, it’s not a microwave position, it requires time and patience which is something Hardy has gotten neither of. Right now Hardy is the best 3pt shooter on the team without question. What we need when Luka and Ky are out there are dudes who can knock down open looks everytime. Right now that’s Grimes and Hardy, if Naji is out there we don’t need Dinwiddie as a facilitator. We have to find a way to get Hardy in the game. He’s too much an explosive scorer to sit every night. He’d be a 27ppg player on a team like Detroit or Boston.

Mavs Media has drove me absolutely crazy and pissed me off all year with all yalls Hardy hate and criticism. Especially Slightly but Nick and Issac have most def been guilty of it too. Ever since we drafted him its been hate and doubt. While Simultaneously pumping up Josh Greens 9PPG and average Defense most nights with the occasional flash of solid defense sprinkled in here and there. When anybody with a set of functioning eyes can see Hardy is the most talented scorer and offensive player we have outside of Luka and Kyrie and its not even close. This team is too deep unfortunately for him. With enough mins and run on the floor this kid is a microwave scorer and an absolute walking bucket. He is a 15- 20PPG scorer right now easily... if its me I am evenly splitting Hardy and Dinwiddies mins unless one of them is absolutely cooking then obviously you ride the hot hand. Love me some Dinwiddie but a lot of times hes too timid and not aggressive enough hence why he is so inconsistent sometimes. You never have to worry about that with Hardy thats all him. He's aggressive and not afraid to attack and has a short memory when he misses shots and his shots not falling he finds other ways to score. Bet your ass thats not going to stop him from shooting. He understands Shooters Shoot. Eventually its always going to fall again for you sooner or later.

He has the un fortunate” situation that the mavs are too good. What you say is not a lie, but he is also small, has a very bad handle, and no playmaking creation. So he can be a negative more than a positive. Yeah, i think most of it is because he has not get enough time to develop, but the dallas need to win, and for winning, there are better players in the teams. Timid microwave is better than crazy spoiling water pot when you already have far more enough shot creation and playmaking in the team.

Hardy hasn’t been in a slump. He’s a young THJ, a volume shooter that needs reps. With all these guards on our team, he hasn’t gotten the shine he’s needed since last year. The reason we all expected hardy to take that leap this year was because of how he played when Luka and Kai were out. This year he’s barely getting 15 min a game. Now that Luka Kai AND exum are injured, he’s has the lane to take as many shots as he needs. And they’re using him as 2 rather than forcing him to play guard. Just give him reps, let him cook and hardy will be fine. It may not be this every night, but he’ll continue to improve with opportunity. The sad part is if we’re gonna make a big swing this year, he’d likely be in the package

But great games from Liv, PJ, & Hardy. Let's get healthy. Make the trades we need to use Maxi, Exum to get Topin or Nance. Then use draft picks and bench players to get a backup point guard who is D focused to guard ANT or Shai or perimeter 3 point shooters. He doesn't need to be a great O player. Why did Thunder get Hartenstien & Curiso? Hartenstien and Chet can offset Liv and Gaff. Why Curiso when you have Dort and Williams & Shai so they can rotate great defenders on Luka and Irving. As in golf ( horses for courses) Thunder are designed to beat the Mavricks, Nuggets & Timberwolves.

To his credit though, I think last night was the 1st time I've seen him play some actual defense. He's still pretty much a blow-by waiting to happen but there were a couple of times last night where he moved his feet and made his guy try doing something else. And he also had that nice deflection from behind whenever he was put into the "Luka Jail" of being stuck on a dude's hip...that was some good defense and had the Blazers working a low shot clock. But that's how Hardy needs to move my needle. Stop being a turnover machine and put some effort in on defense.

Yeah you are unmoved by the NBA leader in 3pt% since December 1st? Trade him to OKC they will know how to use him. Turnovers are part of a young point guards journey, Luka had a ton his rookie year. @@dustinbarlow1623 Naji is actually a good playmaker. But Hardy over Spencer and Dante? I Don't know about that. Exum, other than the finals, has been a very good playmaker and defender for the team. He has good feel like Naji and more often than not makes good decisions. And there's a reason why both Rick and Kidd trusts Dinwiddie. He is a dependable veteran. He helped carry the team to the conference finals over the Suns. Hardy, when he's clicking is good. But he still makes a lot of bad decisions.

@ Since when has Exum or Dinwiddie lead an entire month of 3pt% in the NBA at 57.1%? Not only is Hardy the best 3pt shooter on the team, he’s the best 3pt shooter in the NBA right now. Exum is garbage the dude hesitates in the lane and doesn’t know how to finish. Dinwiddie has peaked and has played like garbage the past five games. Hardy has to absolutely be on the court. No one on this team can put in the hole like him outside Luka and Kyrie. The dude had 9 points in his first two minutes last night.

@@dustinbarlow1623 whoah slow down there. I mean he’s improved so far this year. Jaden’s a 38.2% career 3pt shooter, 39.6% so far this year… which is very good. He is hot right now but I wouldn’t call him best 3 point shooter in the NBA. I’m rooting for the kid too and want him to get more playing time. I was frustrated last year that Kidd kept giving THJ more playing time that I believed Hardy should have earned. But we should have realistic expectation.

Respectfully gentlemen, yall have had to change your tune on a few players. If it isnt Hardy, Dinwiddie or Kidd for that matter. As the great Aaron Rodgers once said, lets be patient & “just relax”! Its a long season folks!

Don't blow too much smoke to PJ, SD, Liv & Gaff. They have 1 solid game followed by terrible game. IMO overall they are not as good as they think they are. PJ is nowhere near a All Star western conference. At the 4, clearly AD, LM, Zion, Ingram, JDub, Gordan, Durant, Dort come to mind who I'd trade straight up for PJ in a second. For the 5, though we have 2 with Liv/Gafford not close to Joker, Wemby, Seguin, Sabonis in the Western conference. So they are good even great on some nights but very very inconsistent. Will be interesting to see how they play against Nuggets, Thunder and Rockets in upcoming games without Luka and Irving. Go Mas great opportunities upcoming to see how good our players 3 thur 8 perform drawing the other teams top defenders without Luka and Irving on the floor. We don't necessarily need them to be great just consistently GOOD. Go Mavs.

Kidd is definitely a top 20 coach in the league. There's only ~17 coaches I can see in the rankings that I think we would be better off with.

Dinwiddie runs some of the worst PG I’ve seen. Dribbles into the paint, baits for a foul and chunk a bad shot and lastly complains to the ref. I think grimes is a lot more fit to run the offense as he’ll atleast pass the ball and get his teammates involved. Dinwiddie just runs at the rim and chunks shots all game.

Bro is imitating Luka's plays. Lol, crazy how he foul baits instead of focusing on attacking.

Nah. They would be cash strapped and BI’s main skill is putting the ball in the hoop. Luka and Kai can take care of that. A Herb Jones type of player is someone you can go all in in trying to get.

Hardy still has that tendency to be tunnel visioned. I saw Klay’s disappointment in the last play of 2nd quarter where he forced a shot in transition with Klay wide open in the corner.
