One actually amazing way to continue Dexter would be if some politician or even FBI showed up and protected Dexter from prison, covering everything up and changing the files to state that he died or fled, protecting him with the goal of using him as an asset to kill his political enemies. The downfall of him was his feelings towards Hannah and his son. His son had a similar thing to a dark passenger, but to me, he didn't demonstrated any signals of being a sociopath; he was just a though and traumatized kid born in blood. The show could start with Dexter hunting Harrison as vengeance. It would demonstrate well that he is willing to give up trying to be like others or feel love.

I think Dexter feeling emotion worked fine because he went through trauma with Rita's death. I don't think he was pretending to care because he has made choices that shows that he does. Even season 1 he ultimately chose Deb over his brother. Dexter much like Walter White or Jessie in Breaking Bad is a work in progress. The way Season 4 started, he broke his code and killed a guy for being rude. Trauma made him into what he was and trauma made him into what he evolved into.

10:27 When you watch the end credits of the last episode, you do see Harrison driving and slowly change scenery and Enter into a more tropical area! I thought L.A. but Miami makes more sense to find out more and go talk to his fathers ex coworkers. Then fade to black and have her, bautista, quinn and masuka standing over him cuffed to a hospital bed having angela, logan and bautista like wtf and quinn and masuka being more on dexters side. They can have it to where Logan was just knocked out by dexters jiu-jitsu pressure point And made that angela believe he was dead, but dexter just sprained his neck. That could work and should make it so he didnt kill an innocent. It would be so amazing to finally see Dexter revealed to the world in a court case and see the whole world's reaction of divisivness With people think That is wrong , but more think that hes right for what he did.

This is brilliant. I hope this is what happens because this is probably what every Dexter fan would love to see. I also hope we get to see Cody and Astra encounter Dexter and realise that he is the reason their mother died and just what their reaction is finding out he is the bay harbour butcher. Also Lumen returning to help Dexter is such a perfect idea. I'm sure the writers regret killing off Hannah because it would've made more sense for her to return and help Dexter with whatever situation he is in because in season 8 he did help her leave the country and not get caught.

Well, we never actually saw that Hannah is dead. We had to take Harrison’s word for it that she died of pancreatic cancer. Harrison had a darker side than Dexter because he had both nature (being the son of Dexter) and nurture (being raised by a serial killer-Hannah-with no code like Harry had for Dex).

Absolutely not, it would be a boring show. Dexter's humanity is what brings the show to life. The whole show is literally about Dexter, realizing he doesn't have to fake emotions he never knew he had, which he does and discovers. Rita and the kids weren't a cover anymore, he truly cared about them. If you noticed in the later seasons, he finally understands what love means and tells Deb, Hannah, and Harrison he loves them.

I don't think Quinn would be out to bring Dexter in. After season 5, he just didn't care what Dexter was up to. I'm down with all this despite it being somewhat contrived, but the issue I take is with the idea of him taunting batista. That's not Dexter's style. He would taunt his victims, but not innocents. I know he's in a different scenario being on the run but there is no way he would do that. Taunting batista would be emotional in and of itself. And it would put rule number 1 in peril: don't get caught. There may be evidence, he may be wanted, but the moment he confesses he has absolutely no way to maintain his innocence anymore. It's really not a play he would make. Dexter is not as dumb as New Blood would have you believe.

I think it will all get blamed on Kurt. Angela tried to get Dexter for Matt's death, but the evidence linking Dexter to it in my opinion, was not substantial. The titanium screw she found in Dexter's burned down house was given to Harrison, to give to Dexter and then Kurt sent the other screw to Angela. Keep this in mind since it sets up a frame job against Dexter (even though he did do it). Combine the above with Kurt's behaviour regarding Matt as well which was suspiciously odd too. He tried to stop the investigation into Matt's disappearance, then lied about him being in a New York hotel, then lied about him living in his secret bunker room which Molly saw. Dexter busted them, then the next day when he and Angela went to check it out, the room was destroyed. Angela, knowing that Kurt got rid of Iris, and all the other runaway women after seeing his trophy collection, combined with his suspicious behaviour, AND the fact he tried to get rid of Dexter by burning his house down, emptied his safe and took his cash, then he disappears after shooting Dexter (allegedly, since Angela told Harrison to go and never come back - it can be blamed on Kurt). So arguably if Angela is logical, she could pin the deaths of Matt, and Molly on Kurt since it is the obvious. People who come up with potential storylines are just ignoring the fact that Angela stumbled upon his trophy collection. This will be significant in my opinion for Resurrection. As for the needle marks, linking to Jasper Hodge, it isn't concrete evidence to link it to the BHB. No jury would convict based on this.

What if Doakes somehow faked his death with a little help and actually is the one who comes to Dexter's assistance. Then the two team up while on the run to bring down some larger threat. All the while being chased by Batista, Quinn, etc

There was at least 3-4 times in the first season that someone mentions how cold slows bleeding. If Dexter wasn't hit in any major organs he could have been saved and he either escapes or is captured.

This is the plot for a Dexter sequel that I think I not only could work but will give a thrilling and exciting follow up to his saga. Dexter didn't die after Harrison shot him so he is taken to prision while expecting his trial. But one of those days some MIB come over to visit him him and offer him a job as a hired hitman for the some 3-letter gvt. agency; say, Dexter Bourne but one that actually loves his job. Dexter takes the offer and he is given a new identity, they switch his FPs with those of a deceased man, and he gets a new life story and some minor face changes. The news will say that he commited suicide in his cell and so all his cases will be dropped, That plot line has already been proposed, but here is what I propose: While doing his job, killing the assigned victims, provided that somehow they fit Harry's code, Dexter has to deal with a new and mortal danger. Batista, Quinn and maybe Elway also. Batista never exactly bought the 'Jeffrey Epsteining" of Dexter so he kept thinking in him while hating him for being the cause of the death of both Maria & Debra, and Doakes. And now as a retired cop he has lots of time to watch and analize the news. So he starts putting things together, which will be difficult of course given that Dexter's victims disappear, the reason why the gvt. loves him as a hitman. So his investigations will probably focus on people that have been reported missing. As the plot advances Batista comes gradually to the conclusion that Dexter is still alive and that he keeps killing people, but he must be doing it now for some powerful people. No matter, he still wants to get him for all the pain he caused, so when he thinks he had enough evidence ge is right, he contacts Quinn, who is now some FBI agent and they both start working as a team hunting down their former pal. Other possibilities is that both have their own PI office, or even that they work for or with Elway, who'll want to get Dexter also not only because of Debra but also because of all the money he lost with Hanna. In any case the 3 men will work now as a team hunting down a Dexter still at large. They know he is wll connected now and for that reason they can't arrest him, they have to simply eliminate him. This would give a set up similar to that of The Fugitive of the 60s, where doctor Kimble had to hunt for the killer of his wife while staying away for the cops hunting him. Dexter will have to go on with his gvt. job while staying out of reach for the trio. He may have informed his handlers of "the problem" but they have probably answered him "You deal with it yourself, it is your problem and you know HOW to deal this kind of problem". That I thinks gives for a thrilling, exciting new series. The only thing missing would be a love interest...or maybe not.
