And btw right first question is very good "Who will controll those data-centers" - it's one big fishy thing about this .. do they wan't to control the new internet? Is everything open source or they'll be new internet overlords? Is it really decentralized as a platform? How hard would be code it whole again based on the protokol and would it be possible for some group of programmers? Etc.

DFINITY is building Internet Computer Protocol. Basically instead of having to build your website off of Amazon Web Services, Facebook, Google Cloud, etc... You can host your site off the internet itself. Imagine a Public Utility Cloud that no one tamper with and built via 1000's of random data centers sending there computer power to host. And everything is cryptographically secured. No one can turn anyone off. Everyone is free to run there sites without... been following this project for a while.. This is a solution to all the security issues plaguing our systems.

@@margabo08 2 great points, seems like this company has the seeds of a great idea, and in my opinion, an inevitability. Although the foundation needs work. Haven’t thought hard about it but it seems like governance/ownership of the tokens needs be forcefully fairly distributed (except for devs and very early investors) at the start and everything open source. Would be interesting to see top holdings in wallet of icp and what their percentage ownership is, as they’re basically the new big tech execs if ownership isn’t distributed enough.

I know right, would love to hear his argument. I guess its purely based on the servers hosting it being decentralized. Those were just a bunch of developers trying to solve a problem, and it grew organically over time. This "Internet Computer" (even the name is ridiculous and without any creative thought) is supposed to solve all problems and we should just believe them ? Without any source code to analyze nor forum thread to read as to understand the reasons behind every choices ? That project smells like "I want to make a lot of money, quickly". Even if they have good ideas (they probably do), nothing stops other open source projects to assimilates those ideas. So, I'll stick with what I can check for myself.
