The ships name is Evergiven, the company who run it are called Evergreen, the owners of that company are Walmart, and the Clinton Foundation. The name "Evergreen" was Hillary Clintons call sign given to her by the deepstate intelligence services. The company, Evergreen has long been suspected of being involved in human trafficking, in particular child trafficking.

@@thewatchman6074 Found the Conspiritard. Although I suspect you are more of a troll than one of the brain damaged people who believe that sort of crap. Yeah he is totally making that all up. Evergreen Marine is a Taiwanese shipping company with about 150 ships, many of them have names starting with Ever. Ever Given, Ever Lasting etc. One of the biggest shipping companies in the world and have been operating since the 1960s. Anyway, no link to anything except the funny coincidence that Hillary Clinton had the Secret Service codename Evergreen when Bill Clinton was President, and all those debunked QAnon conspiracy theories were about the Clintons being into all kinds of crazy shit. I thought all the idiot trolls might die out when QAnon got completely debunked and proven to be full of bullshit after Biden won the election and got inaugurated but apparently they just moved on to new and dumber conspiracy theories.

The wind and reduced visibility are not unusual in the Suez Canal and none of the other ships grounded themselves on that day. Most likely, the VDR data will show that the vessel was experiencing "bank effect", or "bank suction" from the port side. It is a well documented phenomena where the stern is sucked towards the near bank causing the bow to swing in the opposite direction. As vessels have increased in size it has caused a number of "minor" incidents previously and it has been incorporated in simulator training for some time. It is essential to recognise the clear signs of bank effect in order to remedy it correctly, i.e. a significant difference between course steered and course made good, so that the vessel adopts an attitude slightly diagonal in the canal, and a significant amount of permanent helm required to maintain a steady course (15° or more towards the near bank astern). The condition must be eliminated by reducing speed until the bank effect stops. Attempts to regain proper steerage by increasing speed will aggravate the bank effect situation and and cause the stern to move even closer to the near bank and consequently the bow will swing in the opposite direction, in this case starboard. Since the vessel is essentially now very diagonal in the canal, once the bow grounds, it's game over.

We know the captain/pilot didn't drop an anchor(or 4) & didn't use the bow thrusters - plus didn't call tugs for assistance until after ramming - so what did the captain/pilot do right in this normal wind storm?
@mosheh111
@mosheh111 3 жыл бұрын
looking to the canal from arial view you can see the coast bottom clearly full of sand and not deep enough so could be the same in the middle of the canal too due to the open wind all the time bringing sand in massive amount from the surrounding desert , the news said that the bow bottom of the ship was touching the canal bed ! so the captain could've applied more thrust to pass the sand and the wind in the same time and that could've been the cause of the drift putting in consideration the extreme weight of the ship !. A rehabilitation work should be a constant maintenance task, the dredge depth should be increased in order to accommodate vessels of increased dimensions and reduce the dependence on tidal variations.
@beeble2003

@@jwarmstrong Dropping anchors wouldn't have done anything. Anchors only work when a length of chain is laid along the seabed: they're great for keeping stationary shippes stationary but pretty lousy for stopping moving ships.

9B per day? probably warrants spending 100B widening the canal a bit tbh. Mind you the real issue is navigating a 200,000-tonne ship during a sandstorm, sounds like it would be in everyone's future interest to enforce parking up for a half-day and waiting for the storm to pass rather than getting beached for a week.

According to the Japanese ship-owning company, M/V ”EVER GIVEN" is carrying about 18,000 containers (20-foot equivalent), which is close to a full load, and the total weight of the cargo reaches about 167,600 tons (, equivalent to more than twice the displacement of HMS Queen Elizabeth). The Suez canal opened in 1869 was not the first link between the Mediterranean and the Indian Ocean. Canals were dug between the Nile and the Red Sea as long ago as the 19th century BC. They tended to silt up, and the Red Sea had receded, so there had been no link for over two centuries before the current canal was dug.

I posted the following on their original video - "At 0:40 seconds into video states a 7800 mile journey to go round Africa and compares at 1:00 to 7150 miles via Suez canal. Looking at the two routes shown on their map it is clear they had at least one of the distances wrong as the line going round the south of Africa is clearly more than 10 percent longer that the Suez canal route. a couple minutes using the ruler tool on google earth I agree with the Suez trip length but round the south of Africa is clearly over 12000 miles." I am glad the Independent have reuploaded a corrected version of the video, but how can you expect people to believe your content when you don't bother checking such basic things.

How does a 200,000 tonne ship get blown to the side of the Suez canal from 70mph/kph winds??? And is entirely unaffected by storms, tidal waves, cyclones and 90-125 mph winds?... I thinky the captain wasn't at the helm and someone didn't know how to control the ship correctly.....

well if you'd done your research you'd know that each 'pilot' gets replaced by an experienced 'pilot' who works for the Suez Canal Authority for insurance purposes. So the likelyhood of it being an 'accident' is highly unlikely.

Jam Donut the captain is in charge of the ship, a pilot yes a pilot comes on who has experience of the canal and he is responsible for the ship and he takes charge going through the canal Doughnut

I don't think the wind was so strong it was able to stop a 200 thousand ton ship. This was human error. A big one

400 meters limitation didn't concider the height, the total size of the side area with wind speed created the drag force. The tug boats need to be capable to handle.

Bit of an understatement to suggest that the large size/side of the ship acted as a sail.

Your OCD is wrong. The ship's operator is Evergreen (the huge writing down the side). The ships name is Ever Given (written on the bow in much smaller lettering).
