I've been sober four months now and I'm really starting to feel amazing and like my real self. It's been a bit of a struggle to adjust to myself. My wife is having a hard time adjusting to the new me as well. I tend to struggle with my energy, I have way to much and never stop talking. Overall I'm feeling 💯 but I do know I need to to e it down at times. Thanks again Annie for what you did for me. Much love to you and your family.

I wish my ex had watched this at the beginning of my recovery, and maybe we would have been better prepared for the adjustment. Instead he left a 12 year relationship after 6 weeks of me being home from rehab. I stayed strong and he still is drinking and sounds miserable. In rehab they don't warn you how difficult your relationships can be when you make this drastic lifestyle change. Good for them!

WOW. Lucky lady to have such a supportive laid back husband. Annie did you have children during this time? In my experience when family is involved and then it leads too distance, not been present, arguments etc this is difficult. It was hard for me to be understanding and supportive because I was so scared and anxious about the whole thing, I developed a fear about alcohol myself. So when my wife stoped for a month because I was going to leave, I felt bad but at the same time I was relived and I got to witness a much more present and better mum during the day and night, even though it was difficult for my wife. When she tried to moderate I just got angry, triggered and anxious all the time :(. Its such a hard process. I think the pressure I put on my wife lead to her more secret drinking, and increase in drinking too in private, including lies. My wife also has other health issues and ive always had fears of her getting sick and loosing her with young children at home also. So nice to see you guys happy and owning your story.
