Just a tip for the future if you want to paint something black a brighter color like for the shoes, paint it white first as a base coat, then you can paint the actual color you want much easier and you don’t need a million layers!

I haven't painted shoes, but when painting patches on black fabric, I learned you need to get a solid white layer before putting down your color for it to look right.

5:32 MY SCRIMBO! Legit, I love the Superman Returns suit like, a lot. I got a version of the chest logo earlier this year that I WANT to turn into a fairly inaccurate costume(for example, I just bought a Superman Returns belt buckle to paint and put on a normal belt because I can't find anyone doing the actual belt), but I've had a few financial issues keeping that on the backburner for now. Also, if you want to paint darker things into a brighter color, you gotta use a base layer of white paint underneath. I believe I learned this from Glenn Webb for action figures, but it applies to other things, too.

@@ballwelder2857 gloves are a double edged sword for me, i need them to keep shit from my hands to not get infected but the fabric sticks to my skin when it gets bad (like when it gets to the meat as it sometimes gets for me, meaning my hands really do look like Deadpools sometimes), thank fuck for hand cream and moisturizers.

For the shoes. You should have tried primer first. THEN paint it red. use masking tape around the areas you don’t want to be red or painted on. Vice versa for the black tips then all red laces.
