Sorry I am late to the video been on a busy schedule recently, glad my tip could help! Keep it up! But another thing is touch the toes down first, you might be doing this and I cant tell on camera, but when you final front step toes touch start pulling the arm through ( basically with other sports how you want to be toe oriented, this can help throw further but also give you an easier que when to throw). Then, finally, I would say is the little bit of rounding, think if you look back opposite of where you're throwing, and a line was coming up infront of your body and to the left, making a 90 degree angle, you want your arm to be at about an 110 degree angle, then as you pull through into your power pocket like a 90 degree angle with you arm. Hope this helps!

thanks! i actually watched an Ezra Aderhold video that talked about the angle of the disc golf throw that talks about the 110 degree and 90 degree angles. and yes i have already recorded week 3 (coming out today) but week 4 i think i am going to work on my plant foot and coil timing.

One thing I see is during your x step your turning your hips around a little too far backwards. Back facing the target is great but hips being more parallel to throw and coiling the upper body against the parallel hips has helped me with distance. Cheers.

@@acfrisbee I would +1 this. This is also a major reason you lean and will swoop the swing which causes nose up/air bounce. Also since you rotate your body alot it will decrease accuracy and you most likely will have a lot of right to left spread in releases.

Try throwing understable and flippy discs (not distance drivers) with full power, without the disc turning over. Aim high up in the air on your release. By doing this "hyzer bomb" practice it will help you activate your core and teach you not to over-torque the disc. TLDR - Learn distance on non-distance drivers. If you can't throw a putter 350+, don't expect to throw a distance driver 400+. Good luck!

Thats not true at all. I cant throw putters more than 300 Id guess, simply because I never practice it. But I can throw a 400ft driver on a "medium height" line, albeit not very consistently yet

I like this! I’m around the same distance kinda, 367 max and like 330-340 average and just started learning this form and exactly same issue is throwing hyzer is a bit ackward trying to do that cause my discs were flipping a lot more with this speed lol. I’m also on the road to 400
@acfrisbee

lets go! we will be there before we know it. and yeah hopefully in week 3 and 4 I can start getting a little more comfortable and throw on some hyzer and throw more smooth

Try to keep your head out of the throw, you are turning it backwards too early making your reach back early and turning it forward too early making your shoulders over rotate which is part of the rounding issue. You have to learn to let the throwing arm beat your shoulders.

Seems like your body is moving up throughout the whole throw. You'll generate more power by driving through the throw and keeping the release point lower on your body.

noted. Thank you for the tip! I think in weeks 3 and 4 I am really going to try and focus on being more "athletic" and getting my timing down to throw smoother and hopefully it will translate to more cleanly generating power.

Try focusing on transferring more of your weight from your back foot onto your plant instead of primarily transferring via pivot and rotation. Look at Paul Mcbeth's backhand form its on youtube even slow-mo just a good example. You will add distance almost immediately if you can figure it out.

Focus on getting fully extended/balanced when it comes to your arm extension and plant that should help with your timing also

I think that if you focused more on getting power from your legs you could get more distance with less effort. In this video I noticed that your stance right before you throw is very square or side to side. Maybe if you pushed harder off your back foot and plant your leading foot more in a direct line to where your throwing it could help! Loved this video!

I think your timing is off which causes this leaning. Your reachback and brace leg should hit the ground simultaneously, but currently you're already in full reachback before bracing. Your off arm is not doing much currently also. Could you measure your standstill throws and do some one step max power throws and see how it compares to your current distance? DG Spin doctor clarifies this problem over here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pZy1aa14rKhsrZYsi=VJxOwqnbM8Kqu3_7 You got some nice content here man. Keep up the good work!

I really appreciate the comment! I have noticed my arm is already coming forward before my plant foot hits most of the time. I just haven't put the time in to fix it because i have such a hard time changing up my timing because it feels so weird. Measuring some standstills and one step throws would definitely be worth doing. I might do that for weeks 3 and 4!
