Hey! Fellow groomer of 10 years! Have you made a video on how you clean your tools after a house call groom? I’m going from working for someone in a salon to grooming for myself at my home or house calls but there isn’t a lot out there on it. Can you build a dog grooming business without advertising/social media? Only using websites that show booking app, pictures and prices?

Like the Pawsh.App? I think you could but it could take twice as long to build clientele. I've never used apps like that before. If you're referring to just your website probably not. Unless you listed on Google, Yelp, Bing etc. It would be very slow. My google page only gets 11 views per week I think.

Yes. I use the good olé method of word of mouth. There is a slow build up of clientele. The reasons why I stick with this method are as follows: 1. Cost $0. 2. Cost 0 effort outside of giving my best to the clients that I have. 3. Removes the need to promote since the people who recommend me do that because they are pleased with the service. 4. Although it’s a slow buildup, most persons contacting stay loyal. 5. I have time to keep communication channels opened with clients. This matters to some people more than popularity. Social media would kill that for me. 6. The older people that I serve and the Veterinarians highly recommend this method. 7. Less time is waisted on potential clients who call, ask lots of questions and may drain my energy with no interest in using the service. This is the biggest reason why I opted out of social media promotion. I still deal with persons like this, but they are few in number. Lastly, I appreciate good customer service, especially the areas where I am heard, my needs are met with their best efforts and I do not feel like a bother. Some places aim to have so many customers that they are strung out. I understand and simply choose a different more peaceful path. Less is more sometimes.

I'm opening a cat salon in Malaysia and we dont have access to amazing books like that (I have tried searching), do u think u could send me a photocopy of the book? I will totally pay u for it!!!

Starting a business is very time consuming in the beginning but once you lay down the foundation, build a solid clientele and get into a routine is smooth sailing.
