My tip for beginners is to always watch your replays from all cameras available. You begin to get a feeling for what is happening outside your field, such as wheels placement, and mirror blind spots. Also helps to put yourself in the other competitor's situation and understand how you drive from their perspective. If you do full length races and the replays are too long, just check the contacts and overtakes. Pay extra attention when viewing from the other car's onboards or chase cam.

If it's legal in the game I don't see a problem with it
@erwinlommer1972 жыл бұрын
Jacob has a point. In real life there are stewards and rules that sometimes vary. But in game the game tells us what is legal and what is not. This is especially true with track limits as that is something every game polices in some way. You get penalties, slow downs and so forth. Those penalties and messages are also supposed to teach you where you can and can not drive. If you get a penalty for going wide or cutting a corner then you know the game is telling you to not do that. You can have your own rules ("don't cut corners") but those are your own rules and you can not expect others to obey them. So if the game allowed that pass on the grass then it is legal. Sometimes the game gives a lot of leeway, sometimes it is very strict. But the game decides what is on or off the track.
@RyanM122 жыл бұрын
i didn't see a problem with it i mean overtaking on grass isn't easy although i don't know how good gt7's off track physics are but usually there's less grip which makes it difficult too get a move done so i think it's fair since he actually managed too make it stick that's just my opinion tho

3:02 I'm relatively new to sim racing (couple years) , but I feel like I've been told enough times that if I'm behind, that it's on me to pass safely if I'm making an overtake, not only that but even if he had more speed, he's already outside the white line before finishing the corner, so it'd be an illegal overtake regardless unless I'm dumb and we're not recognizing the white lines as track limits here. I think it's possible the Merc didn't expect the Williams to stick his nose out like that, so I can't really hold them responsible, but that's the thing about simracing: If these were real cars, how incredibly pissed off would the Williams team be at their driver sticking their nose in a corner he was never going to make with any real amount of speed in the first place? I get it could be characterized as a racing incident, but it's the result of a guy playing a video game in which he makes an optimistic dive and hopes for the best, knowing in the back of his mind there are no consequences for putting himself and the Merc in danger of crashing. If this is real life and not F1, your team would absolutely chew you out for such a ridiculous attempt at getting alongside a car in front
@2chickenmama2 жыл бұрын
I thought this as well but you can see that the front left of the williams was in front of the rear right of the merc when they take the corner, so even if they tried to back off it'd still mean contact. He shouldn't have gone for the move being that far back but by the time the williams noticed the gap closing it was already too late. Feels like a racing incident to me but def a grey area
@jamiemb172 жыл бұрын
@@2chickenmama it's no excuse to not know the track...if there is a wall coming up on the outside, and you as the driver on the outside (should) know in that situation that the guy on the inside has every right to take the racing line and ease you off the track, you should know what's going to happen and back out of the move accordingly. I can't see any justification for this being a racing incident. Guy on the outside was never alongside; he just stuck his nose in. That isn't being alongside.

8:08 hey, Jimmy! Hanz here. This game is indeed a mobile game as you predicted. It's called Real Racing 3 by EA. As dumb sounding that name is, I found it a great game to play in 2017. Took about 2 years for me to finally have all assists off, but that was only because I was pretty a pretty young. That didn't stop me from enjoying it despite how unstable it was on my moms old phone. Still love it to this day, but it does make me feel a bit sad knowing that not allot of people play or even know about this game. I've been told so many times by people to play asphalt 9 because they think the game I play is boring, but the funny thing is that after trying out asphalt 9 and playing it for a few hours, I found that game to be boring despite its flashy colors and cool graphical designs. To me, asphalt just seemed so empty, while Real Racing presented me with some more content and more excitement. I'm not an asphalt hater, I just prefer Real Racing.

~3:00 williams inside front is hooked in front of the mercs rear wheel, only way they were not going to die there was for the merc to lift and close it's radius ...or the williams could have gone straight into the wall. For me, the Williams/Mercedes one at 2:44 is 100% a penalty for the Mercedes. Even if it's rear wheel-to-front wheel, you must give a car's width (and the Williams was actually front wheel to sidepod) - especially if there's a wall. Doesn't matter how difficult the move is for the Williams, racing room is all that matters and it was a stupid thing for the Mercedes to do, expecting the Williams to disappear.

Merc V Williams @3:00... In Aussie V8s, you have to be up to the other car's B-pillar at least before you can be seen as 'making a genuine move and be given racing space". Up until that point, the car in front owns the corner. If these same rules applied in F1, then the Williams never owned the right to be there at that moment and should have capitulated and written the corner off as a passing opportunity. I realise F1s don;t have B pillars and our rules are different - but my thinking is that the Williams never 'owned' the corner and should have kept his powder dry for the next opportunity.

Everyone please listen to the tip about sticking to your line. There's so many times I plan to go somewhere and someone moves off their line to let me pass but I've already committed to going the way I planned. Usually in multi class people set up to pass a corner before they do so they don't get stuck behind you so if you move off your line you get in their way it can cause them to crash or get a stupid 4x on tracing. Moving off line going down a straight is ok ish but don't do it going through corners especially when they are right behind you if you want to let someone pass don't do it when they are right behind you.
