This is an important information for customers: sometimes the toy company isn't to blame - especially if Disney is involved! 🤣

All the Rey secrecy, yet literally everybody expected her to have a lightsabre from the very first promo image & trailer.
@sledgehama7 ай бұрын
Exactly. There was never any ‘mystery’ to me that she was the main character and would be wielding a lightsaber. I get them holding back old Luke for the sake of spoilers (and that’s something that seems to have been totally glossed over here - like the Grogu reveal, there is something to be said for having that surprise rather than it being spoiled by a toy release months ahead of time, especially given the few seconds of screen time Luke got at the end of VII).

Target put the Jurassic Park Mososaurus on clearance for under $8 just before it got re-released in "recycled cardboard " packaging 😅. Something that was barely selling did not need a re-release.

What I still don't understand was the lack of Han Solo Merch around the release of TFA. It was Ford's last starring role in a SW film, he's the only real movie star in the film, and he has great chemistry with the new characters and runs through most of the film. He was front and center in the trailer and yeah, he dies, but so did Darth Maul, Yoda, Padme and plenty of other main characters that were merchandised like crazy. The lack of Han Solo to draw in toy buying parents was weird to to me. He also wasn't playable in the ST portions of Disney Infinity or Battlefront on X-Box. Seems like they worked really hard to keep him out of the merch.

We live in a world where you can find Marvel Legends and Black Series at Target and then go across the street to Ollie’s and get the same figure at a fraction of Target price.

That explains that, thank you. When TFA came out, I loved the character of Bala-Tik ("Tell that to Kanjiklub!") , and the Rathtars too. The Black Series still doesn't have a Bala-Tik figure, but they did make his Guavian Death Gang minion. Both the 3.75 Hasbro and also the Rathtar LEGO set weren't released until 2017 or 2018, and most fans had forgotten about him by then.

So Kenner famously failed to make a nominal payment to keep the star wars license. How would the toy industry look today if they had kept the license with Lucas getting such a small percent of the sales.

6:00 2 to 3 years? You got a re-issue comming out and the originals are still on the shelves? That should never happen. If you had any sort of demand for the product the originals should have all sold/ sold at clearance in that timeframe. Your average toyline last only 3 years anyway.

@@polarboy5862 Leak culture tends to leave its mark on the Internet. If there was a leak of any kind for Star Wars (especially in 2015 when TFA was all the hype) there would be some bits of the original supposed leaks somewhere. Doesn’t seem worth it to go after someone in their own private chat rooms and risk even more exposure, from a corporate point of view. Keep in mind that this is the same guy who’s been claiming MOTU got canned and to “trust him, he has sources” for about a year now.
