Cammy, I finely had time this spring to watch you. It’s been a very busy spring this year, with Texas open, I’ve been running the wheels off. Anyways, the dead lambs, you just never know what will cause them. I look at this way, lambs are like baking a cake. Not all cakes come out right and many things cause them to not be right. Sheep, as with humans all don’t make it. We as shepherds are right there from beginning to end with the sheep threw their lives, we see it all.

Using the skins from the deceased lambs is very clever. Pet lambs are expensive to raise and the labour involved (bottle washing etc.) can be overwhelming. I am learning so much from these videos Cammy. Thank you. Unreal how physically fit you have to be to raise sheep out of doors. I am pleased that you consider the sheep better than whiskey although judging from your collection of the fine drink, whiskey must be a close second.
@peacepeople98953 жыл бұрын
Keep up the good work. If everything went perfectly and there were no issues to deal with other than feeding and moving them, every landowner would do it and you wouldn't get a front lawn to rent and raise your sheep. For as many sheep as you have and the short amount of time they lamb you're doing a great job.

@@TheSheepGame There's a story in the Bible about how Jacob sheep came to be. Jacob wanted to leave his father-in-law's farm/grazing lambs and go back to his homeland. So his father-in-law said, " Ok, son, when the time comes you can take all the striped and spotted sheep, alright." But Laban, Jacob's father-in-law, had already deceived him over his wife/s, and he deceived him again over the sheep. He took all the striped and spotted sheep out of his flock and sent them off to a distant pasture where Jacob couldn't find them. However, Jacob had a shrewd head on his shoulders, and when tupping time came around, he took branches from poplar, almond and plane trees, and stripped the bark off them in places to make them striped and spotted and speckled. Then he put the branches in the sheep's water troughs. Sure enough, the sheep came to drink, but they also mated in front of the water troughs with the stripey branches in them. Jacob made sure that none of the weak sheep from Laban's flock were included, but only the strong ones. When the lambs were born they were *all* streaked or spotted or stripey! So Jacob was able to take all the good strong lambs, and leave any weak ones with Laban's flock, and he set up on his own, and he grew rich and successful. And that is how the Jacob's sheep came to be. Hope you like this little gem of a story 😊; until next time; K 👍😀😉
