Love the video cammy but just a note of caution ,in England being unqualified and messing with the electrics is a definite no no. Not to say I wouldn’t have done it myself but put it on utube I’m not so sure.

Cammy have a watch of Aiden on Ifarm Wefarm…. He’s not only very funny but he’s a real diy farmer that you could learn a bit from - he would be a good bloke to have on your podcasts too. If you could understand his Irish accent and him your Scottish 😉😉

John Deere 6330 with loader or a 6830 with a loader would be good for your size of farm

This may be the wrong video (I watched on the TV): You don't need a small tractor. You need two tractors. One loads the manure spreader or hay wagon and the other pulls the wagon. Once you start depending on the tractor, then it will become critical to your operation and you'll need a backup anyway. I have 80 ewes on 50 acres and a 33 hp MF-1250 with a loader, forks that can be attached to the front or back for moving bales, bale unroller, hay wagon, box blade, gravity wagon, and a log splitter (listed in order of usefulness). A larger tractor may be nice at times, but the smaller tractor does most everything I need and is small enough to clean my 40'x60' barn. I'm very concerned that if my tractor breaks, I will not be able to move the hay.

Cammy I really love your enthusiasm in doing the small tasks around the farm. I hope you have this same enthusiasm when things get crazy as they can on a farm 😂.

New holland t5 120 140 would suit you ideal not to big but big enough , not stupid money either, as for your yearlings your teaching to eat I send all my keeping hoggs off wintering but few years back we had to keep 200 of them home nightmare teaching them to eat, took weeks and just waste, the 200 that went off wintering came to eat as yearlings in no time, so for me teaching yearlings beats ewe lambs anyday😂

Those are excellent prices from where I am sitting. Down Under we're getting about 8AUD (4 pounds) dressed weight for lambs. Fill your boots while you can!

Fantastic shed… Thank you both for showing it off so well. I’d love to know if either of you, or anyone, would change the design of the gates to accommodate horned sheep? We have Jacobs (two horn) so would want to make sure they could get their heads through with the horns but not get out or get stuck.. Thanks very much Dom @ Lane End Farm

Saw the title of the video and thought... I need a good laugh ;) You did a great job, and you're new mate was a huge help. Nice for Jock to have a new toy, he's never going to want to run through the fields anymore! When mine had toddler car seats like Angus', they had a slight recline feature, and could be propped a wee bit with a rolled towel under the front edge of the seat... Saves having a seat belt in the face, lol. Looking forward to the next one xo

Please, Cammy, keep your new super-bright light either pointed well down, or shaded, so it protects your property, but doesn't blaze across the fields and blind everyone within a 2 mile radius at night. Walkers, cyclists and even drivers can end up in ditches, doon holes, or tapsail-turvey when blinded by those bleedin things.

I was thinking about the lambs all having to share one wee water bowl, then I wondered where they drink when they are in the field? Do those great prices reflect heavier weights or just higher price per kilo?

That was great having Bruce to give you a hand with the electricity and your neighbour loaning you the cherry picker thing. As it should be people helping one another having one another's back. That roof does look like asbestos so don't mess with it. Spot is such a good all round dog. He's an amazing sheepdog but he also very good with the kids. Well done starting the repairs. ✨✨✨✨

After you pick the bale up. Set it down again and then tighten up the top link to tilt the bale towards the tractor again.

Love how happy you are with the new place! Do you trim feet? I had to trim my goats regularly to help prevent foot rot. I have a friend who raises sheep and goats and he didn't trim as often as I did and had more problems. I know it sucks when you have a bunch, but if you have some more prone to foot problems, it's good to keep an eye on them and cull them out as you can. Good feet are definitely genetic. I saw Sandi has a little machine that catches the sheep and then rolls them over for foot trimming. And she has electric foot shears. Very nice. Seems like that would be the way to go when you have the money. Snip snip and spray them down with either antibiotic spray or antifungal depending on what you've got going on. Doing a foot bath more often helps too. I just did copper sulfate once a month and it made a big difference.
