OMG Katy B on the channel! This performance always makes my hairs stand on end. She is one of the most underrated artists from the UK and deserves so much more recognition. Big up Skream and Benga too, massive influences in the early Dubstep scene before it became mainstream and went downhill.
@lokibrux11 ай бұрын
So many to call out,. What about Mala, Coki, Rusko, Caspa, Kromestar and Skream just to name a few? Damn I miss dubstep when it was still well produced and before it started sounding like a 56k modem.
@Psykotik_5 ай бұрын
@@lokibrux Don't forget Artwork my man, the third guy in Magnetic Man, had a studio on the second floor of Big Apple Records which was the hotspot for early dubstep producers. Also released "Red" on Big Apple which is one of the first true dubstep labels alongside Tempa.

I'm late to this but its worth checking out much more Skream. He's one of the trio in Magnetic Man (Skream, Benga, Artwork) and is credited with being one of the original producers of Dubstep before it went commercial and Skrillex put his wobbly bass all over it. Midnight Request Line got played everywhere because Wiley, Jammer, Kano and the Roll Deep crew used to spit over it. It's not a techno beat, it's breakbeat. As hip hop heads you'll appreciate the influence broken beats have had on the world. You should check out some videos on the history of the Amen Break. British commonwealth countries have a really diverse history of breakbeat music, but it all started in the US. Props go to hip hop in the end.

Hey yo! This was a great reaction! And very interesting because you two obviously know a lot about music production from what you were saying. I subscribed for that reason, and also because im English. And not normally a big fan of this typenof genre, but Katy B is different. I would looove to see you react to a collaboration she did with another popular UK artist, Tinie Tempah! This is one if the tracks i use to cheer/amp me up.buts calked " Turn the music louder". Not really a hidden gem - this was one of those chart toppers (along eith their track "I Need Air", that played in mainstream clubs out in the UK. Magnetic Man were made up of 3 dubstep pioneers, Benga, Skream, and Artwork - Benga is no longer active due to depression, but Artwork and Skream are still performing every now and then. They have a track with John Legend as well called Going Nowhere

As always, it's so hard to recommend things, as everyone always does... Sometimes they get it right... Other times, it's not that they get it wrong. But they recommend things that aren't in the top 10 songs that should be recommended ☺.. This track right here? Yup.

There's other higher quality vids with way more views, but I just rushed to find the track,.. It's just crazy that you guys are even reacting to this kinda stuff. Again. Thanks for the love for dnb. Thanks for showing other Americans dnb, grime, UK drill etc. As an American, I truly love our music. But there's so much other stuff out there. And many times, they kick our asses in the very genres that we created.
