So since the head coach just" retired" right after early signing day and the beat down in the bowl game seems a little deceitful. Are these kids still obligated to stick to the signing day Obligation. ? Or can they change there mind without any consequences. Just curious

UGA fan who dealt with Richt for 15 Years. Miami 1st year under Richt looked good although lost last 3 games of season 1 to Clemson which you can't blame Richt for but losing to Pitt. With a new coach you shouldn't be going backwards and the ACC this year is as bad as I have ever seen. Which brings my point to Miami should have been at least 10-2 this year. But Richt will be fired next year and he will collect a lot of money from UM so hard to feel sorry for him.

Miami's 2019 recruiting class has an average star rating of 3.43. Which is the 19th best star rating in the nation, 3rd best in the ACC (behind Clemson and FSU - which is where they normally finish), and the best in the Coastal division of the ACC. The only reason the class is ranked so low is because of the small amount (14) of commits, and as we add more recruits leading up to the February recruiting dead line we'll move up. So the sky is not falling people. We'll be fine when it's all said and done.
@palmbeachcane95235 жыл бұрын
Craig Jones I thought the same thing. The kids we signed are pretty good but it seems nothing is good enough. It could have been better but with the talent we already have we should be ok. Maybe we will get a better class next year but I don't think we will win enough games to achieve this. We will see next year.
@Mike-yj5yw5 жыл бұрын
No. We won't be fine. We were 7-5 this season. We've had more decommits the past couple weeks than we've ever had. Why is that? The kind of recruits UM needs to sign see to get back to even remotely being relevant again see what a complete dumpster fire the program is right now. Richt's offense is a complete joke. The QB situation is utterly pathetic yet not 1 QB wants to come to Miami. The best coach on our staff just left for freaking Temple. I expect our final class ranking will rise come Feb as well. However there can be no doubt that this class is a massive disappointment. Especially considering how many elite recruits we lost out on right in our back yard. This program is DOA until Blake James and the entire University gets serious about winning Championships. That will never happen under Richt.

@@Mike-yj5yw Miami's 2017 recruiting class had only one less decommit (14) than they've had this year (15), made up of pretty much the same caliber of players which finished ranked 11th nationally, yet they still posted a 10 win season, and made it to the ACC championship game that year. Then followed that with the 8th ranked recruiting class nationally in 2018. Also, Miami's 2017 class average star rating was 3.38, their current recruiting class ranking (even with the decommits) is 3.43. And their 2017 class included such recruits as Jeff Thomas, Mike Harley, Trajan Bandy, Jonathan Garvin, Deejay Dallas, N'Kosi Perry, and Navaughn Donaldson along with other 4 star recruits who haven't reach their potential thus far. Point is, UM's recruiting (though it could be better) is not the source of it's shortcomings on the field, it more about coaching and as you said, how serious the school is about sports or football in particular in this case. There are many schools that UM consistently out-recruit yet have been consistently out performed by for long periods of time, such as Virginia Tech, TCU, West Virginia, Michigan St., Louisville, etc.

Craig Jones It boils down to coaching. Not having a real OC cost us the season & recruiting this year. FSU almost always has a top 5 class & they didn't go to a bowl. They have 8-10 5 star kids with multiple #1 in their positions. Another 40 or more 4 star kids. They have more talent on paper than almost every team except Bama,Clemson & maybe a couple others. They still complained that they didn't have any good kids. Their season bad season was coaching & recruiting "star players" not talent. I hope they have another bad year of course.
@tmac69495 жыл бұрын
you won't be fine. I'm a UGA fan and we live in a state which you can own the state with good recruiting. We put up with Richt for 15 Years. He has a history of not getting his teams prepared week in and week out. Saban could come to Miami and win big within a Couple of Years. Right is just not a hard enough worker for programs with big expectation.

Richt fooled us all sorry ass that he is. Freaking 91st ranked offense and he won’t give up play calling. He’s going to take this program back to the sorry Golden area. There’s go my hopes and dreams of this program coming ever coming back. I don’t think UM has the money to compete with the elite programs like Alabama and Ohio St. We can’t pay an elite head coach 7-10 million dollars like they can.

I think it's also a issue about Game Day attendance. Nobody wants to play in front of 6000 to 8000 fans. They want the best stadiums to play in with the best facilities.
