How different moving averages can be used for different trades. How different moving averages do different jobs and how to pick the right moving average for the conditions we are in. I have the 5-period moving average, 10-period moving average in orange and a 20-period moving average in blue in my chart to demonstrate this. I've also got 50-period and 100-period moving averages. We are going from a fast to a slow moving average, the slow one being the higher number so its smoother. I'm never a big fan of having multiple indicators clouding the chart. OK.

I use 7 WMA and regular Bollinger bands 14 for daytrade on M15, very great combination

Could you say something about the different time scales as well? The same moving average looks quite different on hourly, daily... Is there the right time frame for the used average? Sometimes I see the same average being respected on the 30min, but it’s off on the hourly, so for now I’m just looking for the one that fits best, but is there a rule behind it? Thank you in advance! hey man you might be interested in having a look at how slower moving averages on short timeframes match faster moving averages on higher timeframes, ex 1m 100ema = 5m 20ema. Look for the ones that give relevant information for your trading style?

why not use exponential moving averages instead of simple moving averages? and why not setting your moving average periods to Fibonacci numbers?
