In the manga the whole continent is actually huge that it takes days to get to Sumeru from Mondstadt. The whole terrain is crunched up for game size coz yeah so mobile users can handle the size. Diluc probably travels by horse or carriage, so sad that we don't have a mount system yet tho.

Ignoring the fact it's a game and putting it in real world constraints. He probably has a room or something in the city if he's working in the actual tavern. Also though, I'm not convince Dawn Winery is actually his home. People seem to go in and out of it regardless of whether or not he's there so it seems more of a workshop with comforts than a home - at least nowadays, potentially before everything happened his dad/Kaeya it was their home. But something that's just really bothered me is that we see lots of carts about that are clearly meant to be pulled by something... but nothing that looks like it could be used to pull it. Like, the largest non-monster are the boars and they aren't big enough... and none of the monsters would be good either...

The fact is that the time that passed goes really fast in game, so while day and night change really fast compared to real life conditions the fact that the time in game doesn't go realistically could make that Diluc walked for a whole day/half a day while maybe he walked for one or two hours. I don't know if it makes sense what I want to say, but in short if we follow the game time since it change too fast Diluc would have walked for more than one or two hours (which I assume it's the right time for going back to the Winery) or probably he would have walked for minutes and not for hours
