When the Beatles exploded on the scene, heading up the "British Invasion", it was like absolutely NOTHING before musically. Their sound, look, charisma, charm, personalities and musical influence was just mind boggling. Everyone (including yours truly) wanted to learn to play a guitar and be like them and that was just on the surface. What they CREATED was revolutionary and as a long time musician (both performing and in the studio), songwriter, I can appreciate that much more how they broke nearly every "written" rule in the music "book". If they hadn't called themselves, "The Beatles", they could have been called, "The Pied Pipers" because that's exactly what they were. NEVER again, unfortunately, will any music group come close to the influence they had and still have to this day.
@hulverfarm51325 жыл бұрын
What about Buddy Holly? Such talent extinguished so early, imagine what he would have become. I'm in total agreement with you about the Beatles, their influence across the world was amazing, remember John Lennon's crass comment about being more well known than Jesus, of course he didn't mean it like it was interpreted, like coca cola the Beatles were everywhere. Then of course the Beatles sang Chuck Berry on there early albums, so even they were influenced by the American music that came to the UK, music that travelled with the USAF in the second world war, Glenn Miller for instance. Then the Black blues players, skiffle in the UK. Yes I would say the "British Invasion" as you put it would not have happened as it did without the USA "invasion" in the first place. All great stuff!

@@hulverfarm5132 Buddy Holly? What about Chuck Berry, Little Richard, Elvis Presley, Fats Domino, etc etc. Every generation thinks the music that imprinted them when they were young was the greatest and a revolution. The Beatles are one of the most overhyped groups in pop music history.

@@alstevens7060 All those American iconic musicians you mentioned are without a doubt great, many of them influenced the Beatles, but what you may not realize is that the Beatles came at just the right time. Kennedy was shot in late November, putting country into a depression, followed by Christmas music, then when the Beatles show up in early February, with their bubble gum, feel happy music, making the country feel that it was O.K to move on.
@CB-xr1eg5 жыл бұрын
@@hulverfarm5132 John Lennon was right with his " Jesus " remark. he meant that more people bought their records and went to their concerts, than went to church. Of course the religious zealots in the Bible Belt took offence at that. It makes me laugh how they burned Beatles records. So what? The Beatles didn't care, people had to buy them in order to burn them, so maybe the sales went up. KERCHING!!, more money in the coffers! Every time an American sees an opportunity to turn something into a race issue... That alone throws shade on the performances and end product, and is disrespectful. I'm sure Himesh wasn't pining for this job because he's of Indian ancestry and I'm sure Danny wasn't praying for a minority to get this role for points, but rather this came down to pure talent, and just leave it at that. Would the world, without the Beatles, be worse?! Hmm... I’m a Beatle fan but had a sour feeling after this movie (and I was SO looking forward to seeing it). My immediate response as to what would the world be like without the Beatles was simple ...John Lennon (probably the most influential person in my like) would still be alive (or at least wouldn’t have left us so horribly.) I know it’s ‘only a movie’ and I went in thinking ‘wow! this will be fun’ but was totally stunned when ...we’ll i don’t wanna spoil for those that haven’t seen it yet) But I came out of the movie thinking “Hey I would happily hand-over EVERY tiny bit of enjoyment that I got from the Beatles catalogue if it meant John was still with us. Good Art provokes a reaction and this was my personal reaction. Seriously, am I the only John Lennon fan who thought this? Sincere apologies for this morbid reflection but... just saying. Reality is difficult enough and the movie industry usually succeeds in playing around with it. But not so for me in ‘Yesterday’. I actually made a conscientious decision after this movie to NEVER go to the cinema again. It wasn’t that the movie was bad; it wasn’t! It just brought up stuff that I didn’t expect. Again, apologies for rant. Gonna make ‘my way upstairs and have a smoke’. Life’s too short for fussing & fighting my friends.....

I met Danny Boyle twice I was a young man. He seemed like a humble man when I met him. I am here as a person who struggled with mental health and saw how people sidelined me and mocked me for it . I too had a bad time with anxiety I struggled a lot I also had insomnia problems. However now I am delivered from my insomnia. I was 19 at that time trying different religions, drugs , medications to try and sleep but I could not. However, I had already searched different religions and stuff and got to a point where my Friend who was a Muslim spoke to me about God. I thought the idea was stupid but I respected his views. I too did some research thinking to myself wy is there always a Jesus in everywhere, Islam, Judaism, Hinduism etc. Why him? My path then lead me to to my knees as I had come to a crossroad researching both Christianity or Islam. Then I prayed for the first time asking to be shown what the truth was and whatever it was I will follow.I received a dream where I was in a wilderness I saw myself then I got taken to the future where I saw myself in the future leading people through that wilderness. I saw myself holding a huge book over my head with the symbol of the cross. Then I got taken to another part of the wilderness where I saw this pillar of sand go right into the sky with a white spirit there. I woke up as soon as I saw it. This happened in Jan 2015. Four years later, this January I saw something on my Facebook it was a picture on my Facebook of a man next to a Bible quote by Jesus it says Ask, Seek and Knock. The man next to the picture was the man I saw in my dream exactly four years before that. I even have it screen shot on my phone. All I say is that Jesus is real he leads us and loves us and wants what is best for us. He healed me of my insomnia and my anxiety and depression are being healed as well. Seek him he is worthy loves you, God is real and talks in many ways. He is Jesus. If you want to give your life to him say Jesus, I need you I believe you died on the cross for me and rose three days later. Make me into your image of unconditional love for you and my neighbour. Save me from my mental health give me wisdom and help me serve you all the days of my life. Reveal yourself into me and help me stay with you all the days of my life. If you said that find a Bible believing church and check a few people out on KZbin living for Christ and Nabeel qureshi. May the LORD heal and lead you all I wish to see you in the kingdom as we speak of these times on earth how God saved us. I love you all so much I know there are some who will respond. Jesus loves you all.

@@maggie4430 it's supposed to be so, he exists in a world where only he believes that the beatles existed and can't comprehend the change...

I remember an interview with paul from the mid 90s. He said he was shopping with his wife or whoever and a song came over the tannoy system (Remember he has recorded and wrote literally hundreds of songs) She said "did you like this one?". Paul stopped and listen for a bit then politely said "it's ok... who are they?" "They are you!!!"

Himesh nails it. Unreal. In the movie Himesh (Jack) slips into a different state of consciousness. Watch how Himesh blips out when he is about to sing and then blips back in when he is finished.
