How Dithering Worked in Classic Games

Here’s a quick video on how classic gaming developers were able to create the illusion of more colors by using dithering. Developers had to work with a limiting amount of colors so they had to be creative in order to make their game look as good as possible.

Thanks bro! Windows 95 was such a huge upgrade over 3.1. PC users could finally play super fast games on a GUI operating system.

there has to be a way to blend dithering patterns in games. i have been looking for a way to do so in reshade with no luck. but in retroarch (emulater) there are shaders such as 'mdapt' , 'gdapt' ext that can blend the patterns. if we could just get some shaders or a program of some kind to do that for games we could do some really cool stuff i think

There are CRT shaders for ReShade, including a port of CRT-Royale, considered the best one.
