Divorce is hard but it’s not as hard as staying in a toxic unhealthy unhappy relationship.

You are so right! That’s what I was told when I’d gone through it. It was a death of a relationship. I worked for a family law attorney for six years, and when the children became bargaining tools I had to quit.

Going through a divorce now 😢 it’s so hard mentally and physically and it’s like mourning a death and they are so right about a lot of things. I didn’t want this situation at all that’s what is making me mentally hard right now

This was good topic for the show. I'm currently supporting a family member through a divorce who didn't want it and they are emotionally and mentally not in a great space and its very tough being there for them and knowing the best way to be supportive, its interesting to hear perspectives from those who have been through it and hearing their sides of how they felt as this has helped me understand how they may be feeling or will be feeling during this time as the person I'm supporting is very shut off and masks their feelings

Divorcing a high conflict person and trying to get rid of an abuser one share children with is 1000x harder. It is not always just about the money if you are facing an abuser, it is how he can torment you for the rest of your life in any way he can. There are lots of divorces like this and I think this conversation missed a very important point. The system do not help women with this kind of divorce. Some only just appear in true crime documentaries later as nobody, lawyers, police, social system helped them even if they ask/bef for it…..

'Nothing so life changing as divorce'? Please! What about losing a child? Watch Breakfast this morning about teenage children taking their own lives. And then kids that have childhood cancers. Loving partners that are killed in road traffic accidents......the list goes on. These women are thoughtless and not that bright frankly

Actually both are devastating. And whats devastating for you is no worse or better. If you are going through something tearing you apart you cannot measure it against what someone else feels. I lost my three kids during my divorce. They are alive but the devastation of not having thembin my life was a grief I have found hard to bear 22 years on and now two of them do talk to me. My cousin had two children die as teenagers. She said to me 'at least my boys are gone and I know they won't come back, but yours are alive and that is worse because its a continual torment'. I never understood her but I do now.

She talks so common-seriously? It’s called an accent. Before you start slagging people off, you need to read your post back and look at your punctuation, spelling and lack of capital letters 🤦🏻‍♀️
