Well done to Kirk for getting through that show. I walked past a man on a bench who seemed sad, I went over and asked if he was alright. He looked at me as if I was crazy. The next day I walked past another man, on the same bench. I didn't go over to him but I wanted to. A few hours later the police were going door to door asking if anyone saw anything. The second man, took his life. I really regret that I didn't go to ask him if he was alright. I wonder if it would have helped and now its too late to know.

They certainly weren't poor - the daughter lived in a £1.3m house and worked with her husband in many businesses including branding and marketing. Right at the start they hired a young pr person to write the very first press release and distribute it to the media announcing what Captain Tom was doing and then fired her soon after when the press blew up and the daughter started managing the whole affair including appearing in practically every interview with Captain Tom.
