@@smashmaniac2008 Actually it's level 17 is when warlock gets the 4th beam. Additionally it would be player level, so they would still get it. Action cast, quicken spell, then action surge would get you 12 beams. But it's not worth it IMO since you lose out on both your 8th and 9th level slots, two Eldritch Invocations, and a feat. Still, it would absolutely nuke whatever you pointed it at.

it's something I only got to do once but, quicked spell-> grasp of hadar into getting hit with pact melee weapon + crusher feat to knock them off a ledge was very very fun. Repelling + Lethargy is just sooooo good tho. My go-to for caster warlocks was to just throw down Hunger of Hadar or sth like that and just. Nope. You stay in there. You're gonna make a lot of slimy friends in there.

With an average build (assuming no multiclassing, nor hex or curse setup), at level 20 you do 4*(1d10+5) damage (with agonizing blast), which is an average of 48 damage per turn, a minimum of 24 and a max of 60. That's Force damage, the least resisted ever. Repelling blast also helps immensely with crowd control, especially if you are in an area with envirommental hazards. And it's a cantrip. If you want to be an asshole, then multicalss into sorcerer and use quickened spell to cast your eldrich blasts twice (you can do that cause it's a cantrip, p.203 of PHB), which means double damage AND repulsion. Then of course you can setup Hex (which with the uickening of EB is used 8 times) to add 8d6 to the overall damage (average 24 damage, max 48, min 8), bringing the average damage to 72. Then you can even add the Hexblade curse, which at level 20 gives you a whopping 40 straight damage bonus (if EB is quickened), taking the average to 112 force damage.

Two levels in fighter really helps with the limited spell slots. Especally if your DM gives you a rod of the pact Keeper. Thanks to one of my party members (an orc sorcerer) taking Catnap he usually is kind enough to cast it on me between fights. Our character's have synergy where he just carries my character during catnap and in turn my character makes him and the rest of the party the most delicious meals.

Put 2 levels in Fighter, 2 in Warlock and 16 in Sorcerer and you get 8 eldritch blasts every turn (the first turn is action surge, but your bonus action is hex. The other turns are just eldritch blast, quicken spell eldritch blast, which is why most of your levels are sorcerer, get some more points

Illusionist Bracers + War 3 / Lock 17. Once a day, fire 12 blasts for 12d10 + 60 (Agonizing Blast) + 12d6 (Hex) and potentially move them up to 120 feet in any direction (Grasp of Hadar / Repelling Blast) or heal your party with hit dice (Raven Queen's Blessing).

We felt like the Accursed Specter din't fit the them of the Hexblade warlock So my DM changed it to work like the War magic of the Eldritch knight; when you cast a spell as an action, for a bonus action you can make a melee attack. So i took the Crossbow expert feat, and now i can Blast enemies at blank point range with 3 beams of EB AND give them a Pact Greatsword to the Face!. I RP it as my Warlock charging EB energy in his fist, before clobbering the poor sod and then cutting his face off with the Pact Weapon. Funny as hell

Nice homegrown evocation that my party does for warlocks. Name it what you what but it changes the damage dice from a d10 to a d12, only take it after you reach level 7 and have agonizing blast. It's a nice way to get an extra 2 damage from a bolt if you are going for a blast build.

It is worth noting, with hexblade, hex, and a couple sorcerer levels, (or illusionist's bracers if your DM is foolish enough to give you that), They really aren't many things at your disposal that could deal more damage than casting Eldritch blast. With Hexblade's Curse and the Hex Spell, you can deal 4d10+44 Force + 4d6 Necrotic, So you're looking at an average of 72, with a minimum damage of 52, and potentially way more, because each beam has a separate chance to crit. That can get up to 172 damage if you're insanely lucky. With the potential to do that a second time in one turn if you have the means to do so. I'm not sure the warlock has access to more damaging effects than that.

After xanatarh guide the best thing you can do is gettone a shortbow as pact weapon and get the feat crossbow Expert. Than you take all possible invocation that buffs you dmg and raven queen as patron. You make there attack a turn with minimum 55 dmg at lvl 20 of you roll only one

Thats why i love eldritch blast and i like to give it to my mages as well when they get the opportunity. They fill the gap for when you cant really use fire bolt (resistances, flammable area, etc) and you dont want to use your very limited spell slots on low level enemies. The same reason i carry a souped out 10mm Pistol in fallout. I dont wanna use all my .308 on RAD Roaches
