Scaling the bump depending on the cameras distance is a great piece of info. Everything else was basic and i learnt nothing. I Would not pay for this video. He skims over everything and teaches nothing except a few material node concepts for a software that I don't use. This isn't even a 'workflow' to get photorealostic models. It is a work flow for rendering any 3d model. This video is completely unrelated to photorealism, he just happens to be using them as the example but teaches you nothing about rendering photo-realistic itself.

Man, this video is so slick. What I really love about it is that you are talking about your methods as a strategy. Why you do the things you do. It may just be a drop in the bucket, but it's the least I can do. I like how you remind everyone it doesn’t matter if we use Blender, Maya, Cinema, 3ds, etc. These days the line is blurring with the differences. Sure there’s pros and cons in each, but they are all similar workflows. Even if hotkeys are different, you still have subdivisions, edge loops, rendering, node texturing, the PBR shader is the same these days, etc. even the gradient node has an equivalent called Color Ramp. Also when you modeled the wooden table, Cinema’s clone tool is Blender’s Array tool, and both I believe function similarly even if the mindset and workflow feel a little different. But yea I watch blender to learn new features and specifics to blender, but I follow you religiously because you DON’T use blender and it’s to teach me from a modeling perspective and not JUST from a using Blender only perspective. Doing it that way you realize how similar every 3D program is these days.

This taught me something major, I've been making a mistake with my surface imperfections! I was that guy who asked about Cycles4D on one of your streams and I saw that there are similarities in it's nodegraph functions so I found this really helpful as I don't have Octane or Redshift. But all this time I've been putting my surface imperfections into the bump and normal channels. Why I didn't even consider the roughness channel is beyond me. Also the way of cutting a perfect circle out of an object, fantastic tip! I'll definitely be utilising what info I've managed to take away from this, thanks Clint!
