For me and most people, mayday is a excuse to go drink in the city centre with your mates :D good that you went on mayday eve, its way better than actual mayday. actual mayday is when you see more families and kids etc. and not as many people drinking having a fun time.

In the 70s and 80s we only had munkki. Coated in sugar and that was it. Small balls of dough. Miss those days 😪 almost forgot Sima.

Interesting about the white caps! They are common in Norway and Denmark, but at least in Norway they are mostly red, or blue and worn only by the graduating high school students of the year in May, especially on the 17th of May. It is nice to learn about Finland through your channel, thank you! :)

After my student days, I’ve avoided Helsinki city center like a plague during the Vappu eve. That day is more for students and others that want a reason to booze up in public. I still do enjoy the May day (the 1st of May) picnic in Kaivopuisto, if the weather is nice. Was surprised to see the tram so empty. You must have been early!

I would have enjoyed more if the weather was nicer...but as you know it's usually cold on Vappu😂

I used to eat so many Vappu vadelmamunkkit :) They are delicious. Vappu was a celebration I was curious about since we don't have this in our country. I enjoyed it a lot
