It's not useful because it requires a special surface. We've had Mag-lev trains for quite a while.

Alcine Ward so far that is not possible. If it were we wouldn't still be using rockets to launch space shuttles. As far as I know, the best we can do is slightly reduce the effects of gravity using electricity.
