I am both excited and terrified of this type of technology. The reason being is that mind control and seeing your thoughts and memories could be a MASSIVE invasion of privacy. I would really wonder how they secure the input and output. Could you imagine how much worse a stalker could be if they know where you are or could drop into your thoughts at will? I would like to think that there is a way to block that out otherwise it would drive everyone insane. I have no doubt that the general public at large will probably be opposed to this technology. The two main issues I am sure that will arrive is religious opposition for playing god. And then societal issues, we are already very divided on race and in politics so now we could be creating a divide amongst those that are modified vs the pure ones that are just themselves. If we are merged with an AI what if it just decides to take over? I just don't think this is going to go over as easily or as smoothly as people want. There will need to be a ton of public trust that this is right.

This is a very serious time. Unfortunately I have never was able to attend one of these maker faires myself. From what I have seen from the video footages are these Maker Faire events that I see on KZbin. And what was displayed in these events was very impressive. And I do believe that the Maker Faire and its media has and must serve a purpose to Society by providing a deterrent by providing Society with other options to keep some people out of trouble as much as possible as long as possible. But unfortunately there are some people who do not know or care about the maker faires and worst of all some of them, they know who they are, do not like these events at all and do not like what the maker movement is about and they will do their best to undermine what the maker movement and shut it down for good. And these same people they know who they are, do not like what the maker movement is about and they wants things a certain way. And the same people who do not like these maker events do not like anybody who stands in there way.A lot of good things have already came out of this movement like 3D printers and arduino and so on. fortunately there are those who still believe in the maker movement what it stands for.
