THANK YOU!! My girlfriend is having a medical issue and I went to check her BP and the calibration was off on the gauge. I found your video here, did what you showed and I fixed it!! Saved me money from having to buy another BP cuff too! I did go ahead and slowly twisted off the black hose first from the gauge before I used the pliers to prevent accidently puncturing the hose. I re-attached the hose, took her BP and it worked. Thanks again!!

In India, we get a small key along with the BP instrument purchase which can be to perform the Zero adjustment. You simply need to unplug the rubber tubing at the base of the dial head, insert that key and rotate it clockwise or counter-clockwise. See if your dial head also has that feature. If that feature is present but you have misplaced the key, you may try using a flathead(minus) screwdriver which is narrow enough to enter the base of the dial head.

Thanks for mentioning the key. I didn’t even see the little key in the box the cuff came in and after reading your post, I went back and found it. The key worked perfectly

Does this work for all brands? I was trying this on my Alp K2 brand, and it does not turn.

Learn something new everyday. But isn't it the manometer that you are really calibrating?

Hi there! Yes, the medical term for the gauge is sphygmomanometer 🩺
