The correct tool for this job is a GUTTER CLUTTER BUSTER. It connects to your wet/dry vacuum and puts all the debris in the canister. You stay SAFELY on the ground. No extra mess or work is created.

Downspot strainer is the dumbest thing you can buy. It gets clogged in no time. And guess what? When your downspot doesn't work water goes only one way... inside the structure

Gutter screens only keep large debris out. Mine almost filled completely full of dirt and small debris after two years. We live on a no curbed street so you may have better luck.

Can't you just wash it out with a hose then?

You have to remove every other one, then flush out with a hose. But when it was this full, I had to use a garden trowel and scoop the dirt out.

I'm sure they have gutter screens with hinges that you can flip up when you want to clean 'em.

These are screwed to the outside or front of the gutter and the back has a flexible rubber gasket that screws into the fascia. They will hinge up if you take the screws out, but to me, this defeats the purpose of putting covers up in the first place. Before the covers, I had to clean the eves twice a year or more, most were done with a leaf blower. But now she doesn't want me on the roof anymore. Now once a year, but I have to remove the screws to clean them. They are aluminum and are about three foot long. A lot of ladder work, when before it was just reaching in and pulling the debris out. I know nothing is perfect I just expected better performance for my buck. Thanks for the chat.
