I'm glad I'm not the only one! Lol.... and I don't have kids but I do have a work from home job. Birds are soooooo much more work!

SO MUCH WORK! 🤣 I had no idea what I was in for!
@tessa74133 жыл бұрын
It is a lot of work! I only have a green cheek conure & 2 budgies and 2 cats that we juggle bird time with (cats go either upstairs or in the basement whenever birds have cage-free time on main floor), plus 3 older kids... but of all the pets I've had, birds are the closest to having toddlers, and anyone whose had kids knows that toddlers are a lot of work! Days with birds & days with kids are very full days - especially if you have both together!!! But, it is very fulfilling :)

They’re so fulfilling! I have to work hard to balance my personal time then remember to dedicate certain days to all my spare time we hold birdies! Thanks for your feedback!

So glad you addressed this issue, I can so relate. One bird I found was easy with time with her, two birds that don’t get along is so time consuming, but I just try to do best I can, there won’t be any more birds here, 2 is enough for me and for them also. They have great food thanks to (Birdtricks), great toys, and try and give them a different foraging game everyday, sometimes it doesn’t happen, and time out of cage everyday. To do the best for the birds, is a lot of work, and it doesn’t let up.. You do a great job, don’t beat yourself up, your birds have a great life, I have no doubt about that. Take care 🙂.

The food aspect is so important! And I hate that I’ve realized 3 is more than enough because my heart wants to help other birds but maybe down the road! Thanks for sharing and for your feedback 🤗

I think one idea for a video would be to show us how you made all the fabulous cage free set up things around your house 🥰

Can Sun Conures be trained to relieve themselves in certain areas instead of on us? :)
@bestflockingfriends2 жыл бұрын
Absolutely! You have to train them to capture the behavior, then select the area(s) you’d like this primarily trained. Ie give them a treat reward the exact moment they poop or provide the behavior you’d like to capture. Once you have them understanding that pooping when you say poop (or spot, or whatever word you choose) means reward, they’ll be inclined to do it when and where you ask so long as it’s rewarded. Then, they will start going there to poop in anticipation of a reward.
