Your video echoes a lot of my own sentiment about FF14 and why I always come back when a new patch is up for nearly 7 years now. The way that it doesn't force me to clock in is specially wonderful for my mentality and changed how I viewed paid subscription mmos a lot. Every time there's a free thing we can get in the game I can see how that model helps us get these contents out. It makes me wonder why gamers are so against it in the first place. FF14 is a really good game with a great single player story. I'm hoping that with yoship's push towards allowing people to play the game by themselves people can give it the chance it deserves as a numbered final fantasy, for its pretty much the only thing that square released in the past 5 years that I actually care to this day.

man you have a lot of great content. thank you for putting this out. i take my time with any game i buy- and truly FF14 was worth my money as i can stop and play something else and return anytime i want to. playing this game motivated me to draw again when i was already about to quit art (which was my source of daily income) and it also motivated me to try not being scared to put myself out there again. make videos that idk if anyone will watch but I had fun editing and always come back to for good memories with my friends. and so much more. but yes- i always remind people, play it on a pace you want. its not a fast food kind of thing you plow in one go and now you're tired of it.

(Hi, it's Emerald LexVeda here, you've met me!). I came from Phantasy Star Online 2. In that game, there wasn't enough content, and what there was to do was too "samey". Grinding the same combat zones over and over again. My "problem" with FFXIV is there is *too much* to do! So many choices that I often feel overwhelmed. I look to more experienced players (such as my in-game wife) to pick something to concentrate on but we both aren't good at making decisions. I wouldnt have even known about chocobo racing or MinionHammer 40,000 if it wasn't for my wife! But, too much content isn't a bad thing. At least there is always something to do! Just gotta roll a dice and pick something!

More than anything, what I want in FFXIV is a reason to go out in the world with others and do things. There's so little to do in these zones that requires other people that doing anything besides sitting in a city or house party feels lonely. No one's talking in zones. No one's coordinating. I've never seen anyone camping spots for cool stuff. It's always just me and maybe a sprout who happens to be in an area because they're doing their MSQ and even then there's not much to do in the MSQ besides talk to NPCs and queue for a dungeon. Even the people I see when fishing don't communicate often when I speak to them. I don't want to make comparisons to other games but I think this is an area that could be improved upon.

@@SamTheLemonBoy I see what you mean, but the amount of special fates seems so miniscule right now. It feels like we dont even get many achievement fates anymore that give out special items, besides the special token ones (ex chi, fox lady). Content good for new players. People who have played for multiple years have finished everything or there is no reason to go back to old content. Like for me, and playing at my own pace, I finished the MSQ within about 2 or 3 months of starting the game. While also fishing and going other stuff. That was year 1. Then of course EW game along, so I took a couple of months breaks so I didn't get burned out. I finished EW quests, that were out, within a few weeks. Bringing us to 2022. I took about a 3 months or 4 month break and then I started playing. And I did all of Eureka within about 5 months, while raising all of my crafting and gathering skills to max and finishing almost every bit of content for craft/gathering jobs in that same amount of time. While also doing all old stuff such as raids and quests. By October, I took another break till about February. So now I've finished, every quest in game. Every old raid and dungeon. And I've completed Eureka. As well as trained a number of other jobs. Which I will never play tank or healer, so I don't touch those. And I don't touch classes I do not enjoy. This is all by a 'new player' which I'm not new anymore. But now that I've made it to endgame and done all old content, there isn't really anything left to do. And I've never been a Raider, so while I'll so Ex Trials and normal raids. I will never touch Ultimate or Savage because it isn't something I enjoy. And I'm never going to go to the nightclub crap, because it is just something I don't enjoy in the least.

As for community, it is just like WoW. Everyone is silent and don't speak. Especially in dungeons and even raids. And those who do speak, are usually negative. I used to enjoy doing Fetes because so many people were doing them a year after EW, but now it just kinda died after October of 2022.

Great video, brother, as always! I watched it three times already. 😎Firstly, I am glad to hear you are looking after yourself, especially after surgery!😇 TL;DR For my comment, Good game, great community, lots to do, and I'm still very much enjoying it! And another fantastic video!🥰 I think you discuss some really good points. I've been playing this game since 3.2, and haven't really taken a proper break except for when other games come out. E.g., Elden Ring made me neglect FFXIV for the longest time. My major timesink WAS the interaction with other people, PvP/Savage/Extremes, then it became Housing, and then I got into making videos. But I never felt obligated to return, which is why I love it so much.😇 Personally, for me, the community is what keeps me in this game and a big reason for my own positivity, outside of my personality naturally being that way. When I was a Sprout and I went into Sastasha for the first time, coming from WoW and other MMO's I was just quiet, and I got met with "Hello, let's have fun!" and some guidance on what to do, and that made me happy.🥰 Then I found that happiness in the interaction with other players was the norm.😇So I wanted to become a part of that positivity and spread it in my own way. I can count on one hand how many toxic players I have met in FFXIV, vs. the countless times in WoW/LoL and so on.🤩✨ From the POV of another video maker: really fantastic editing, which is a big part of what sets you apart from other types of commentary videos (can we swap soundbyte libraries?😅)I like that you added the bobbing up and down to what are static shots to emulate movement, which is much more visually interesting than standing on a backdrop with /converse playing. 😎👍Also, the fact that you managed to blend the sound effects and what's going on in the background with your voice without taking away from the points you are trying to make is a skill, except at the part where the Woodwailer fights the scorpion (which I laughed really hard at😂) This is easier said than done, but never feel like your personal thoughts don't matter, because I watch your videos for their entertainment value, the editing, to learn what I could do with my own videos, and humour (because you have a similar sense of humour to me), but most IMPORTANTLY, it's for you, your personality, and your take on things and the way you present them. ✨ So keep up the amazing work, brother. Look after Number 1. (That's you ☝😎❗❗) and keep doing what fulfills you and make the world a little better with your video making and music production! 😇🥰

FFXIV has a low requirements for all activities. This is by design. The game was meant for you to go out of your comfort zone and try new things. When I hear someone who quit FFXIV because they had "nothing" to do had missed the whole point of FFXIV endgame. I would go as far as saying this is one of the bad habits we all picked up from other games, especially in other MMORPGs. It took me a while to figure this out myself. For example, Job system in FFXIV where you can switch to any class using one character. This is there for you to entice players to try another class or an entire different role. Whereas other MMORPG conditioned players to create a whole new character and go thru all the trouble again of starting over. Further and further discourage you to try more classes.

I always take a month break after every 30 day sub so i don't kill my interest in the game completely from burnout, so imma be back when the new content comes out in January then take a break till the next on and continue this cycle xD Don't think i ever did this with any other MMO i played before... so maybe this one's straight up isn't for me coz I come from the Action MMO with controller side (last was PSO2, base gameplay good, terrible community and game systems, incompetent greedy developers) to be and not WoW like everybody else around, idk.

@DeusGamez2 жыл бұрын
its not that although it does work as deterrent cause even content creators are no exception an will get banned see: Arthas, Xenosys, Haru Hissatsu, Savix, an others. but its to cover Square Enix's ass in case someone trys to threaten to sue or charge them for a crime so this is why they adopt the policy of zero tolerance however Naoki Yoshida is lowkey fine with you using whatever tools so long as you don't promote toxic behavior, porn of their assets, harass people with them, or cheat. all of which break the game's Terms of Service agreement you sign when you register to play the game. so in other words it removes all legal responsibility on SE and instead punishes the offender/violator.

You can find 3rd party tools being used by dance crews, roleplayers, musicians, glamour enthusiasts, crafters and gatherers... its pretty much okay anywhere except for raids and PvP, PvP being the biggest sin. Just dont *flaunt* your tools and stick to lightweight stuff for streams. Lot of streamers use gshade and are fine for example.

I've always been perplexed by this notion of this game encourages breaks when things like housing, unreal, and savage looting exists for instance. If you take a 2 month break and own a house, well bye bye house. You wanna gear your main job for the upcoming ultimate? Too bad you need to log in every week to make sure you get a chance at that loot and a book! You wanna take a long break from the game and come back after a couple patches of content our out for you to explore? Oops! You missed the certain unreal trial(s) that gave you an experience of older content at 90! Oh, and not to mention those rewards are also on a weekly lockout >.>. As someone who hasnt played WoW, it seems like how people play this game can just translate to WoW (or any MMO) IMO. There is plenty to do in that game as well. The game isn't truly rushing you, just go for it! If you want to do something when its current, then you'll have to grind for it. If you dont care about it (which seems to be this playerbase and is a fine mentality to have), then just take it at your pace.
