I never pursued public speaking, I didn't ask to be a teacher or preacher, but it seems like it found me. Someone was scheduled to speak at my home church and at the last minute couldn't make it. I was asked to speak in his stead. This was my first time preparing a sermon and delivering God's Word. From that moment on I've been asked to speak. My dilemma is that public speaking / preaching doesn't come naturally for me. I am naturally reserved and introverted. In preparing a sermon I have anxiety. I'm not too concerned with getting up in front up people, it's more of what will I say and how will it all come together. I do find that once I'm up speaking all of the angst disappears. I feel great delivering God's holy Word. Then when the next engagement comes I go through this cycle all over again. It just makes me wonder if this truly is for me. Is this really what I'm supposed to be doing? I know a lot of speakers and preachers. It seems like speaking comes so naturally for them and they seem to enjoy it. For me on the other hand, it's a struggle. Everyone says I should be a pastor, I should start a church. But I don't have a desire to pastor or start a church. I have a desire to help people, visit the sick and imprisoned , cloth and feed those in need, help disadvantage kids etc. I really don't care about being up front. I love the Lord with all my heart and I sincerely want to do God's will for my life.

Amen. God bless you. Seek God with all your heart, not man. God has put into you the desire to do his will. Your desire to clothe people etc. Could be the gift of mercy, the gift of giving. I have the similar desire to minister to the poor and homeless and give to them. God is with you. Amen. What an encouragement. You are already in possession of your gifts, now just walk in it! Don't care about what men says to you. Use what God has put in your heart! And be with him everyday. Seek him and you will find him and with him you will have eternal life , even here on earth. The word is clear! His will is to heal the sick, feed the poor, THAT NO MAN SHALL perish, to proclaim the kingdom and love one another..the holy spirit gives us gifts for the body of Christ so we feel the most alive when we are using our gifts but keeping his authority in mind! I'm not saying that you shouldn't do speaking but just as God is Lord over your whole life, and you seek to serve him and the body as best glorifies him. I'm saying God has the answers. Seek him with all your heart! God knows and will bring you into fruition. Keep praying for that. He will open doors for you.

Luke Wagner I think you’re spot on in what you said as the Bible says without holiness, it is impossible to see or hear God clearly! This fact reminds me that a personal commitment to holiness is key to seeing, hearing and being able to receive from the Lord clearly. You made a great and key point Luke and what you said has been a great reminder to me! 👍 God bless sir!
@mxcollin955 жыл бұрын
Luke Wagner I had the Godliest man I’ve ever known tell me, before he past away, that 99% of ministry was coming to God with clean hands and a pure heart, which is our duty and responsibility in our personal relationships to Christ and that from there, it is God’s prerogative to use our lives as He sees fit which includes using the skills and talents he has placed in our lives throughout our walk with Him. Also, we must remind ourselves that God is able to do exceedingly and abundantly above all the we could ask, think or even can imagine in some cases! So In closing, as we focus our efforts on approaching our walk with the Lord with the utmost seriousness, sobriety and commitment, HE WILL ALWAYS BE FAITHFUL in guiding our steps as proverbs says that “a man plans his way but it’s the LORD THAT GUIDES HIS STEPS! Praise God for HIS LOVING FAITHFULNESS!!! (Without which we could so easily be lost and confused! I hope this helps. 👍

My heart went out for all the unsaved people of the world, and I've been drawn to street mission work. Of course my first calling is my family, and so I dismissed this thinking I don't have the gift of gab or depth of understanding (especially fearing debating theology and science) but this came to me just now. What do you think? If I was to be a missionary, I would approach people asking if I can pray for them: find out what worries them the most, ask if they believe in God, inform them I will pray for them in Jesus name and ask if that's ok. Let them know that I'm not saying God will answer - there may be many reasons why He wouldn't, but He may choose to do so. Ask them if they are interested to hear the gospel of Jesus Christ. Then ask if they believe and want to accept Jesus' sacrifice on their behalf. Then ask what do they think they need to do now as a Christian, guiding them to understanding that they can have a relationship with God through prayer, reading the Bible and if there are passages that are confusing, they can reach out to Christians in church.

I believe in God alone and His Word but even then some say there are 777 books while others say 66 books, so who is right, what is real and truth. I woke the other night hearing myself speaking in a tongue I did not recognize, I went back to sleep and woke myself up again speaking some language. I was not afraid but it was strange. I know God is real, Jesus Christ is real, and the Holy Spirit is real. These days you can not just follow anyone, but God alone.

At 9 years old my mother left my father, my older brother and my younger sister and myself 12 yrs, 9 yrs and 6 yrs old..I dont know why she left but over the next 7 or 8 years she would return and sometimes leave a week later and sometimes we kids would believe we were a family again.....and then she would leave😒... my father,R.I.P, loved her and would run headlong into it time and time again early on he started taking us to church, Baptist .sunday school , morning service and occasionally evening services, they were nice people, the smiled at me, spoke gently...not alot of that happened at home...so, comparatively I had a lighter heart at church..I felt something...kinda..., I thought we would pray at night... children would pray to have a mother again, and were told If you want it and you love God pray to him for your mother's return... (Sidebar...Dick move , leading children down roads of false ....looking at you pop's, everyone at church....) as an "adult" I have come to some realisations: 1. Baptizing a child is wrong, Your not allowed to drive until 16, vote and join military 18, buy alcohol and firearms (handguns) 21...why, so why thinks its ok for them to be responsible enough to promise the entirety of the lifes to something. 2. Being misled by adults appering to "represent" god, does not mean that there isn't a god or this was his intention. 3. The more I ask questions or have conversations with people about god...the more unclear it becomes, they say things like: I felt the lord come into my heart....., I have not You must have faith....., O.K. so you just decided that as far as you are concerned God is real...just like that? In other words , deciding bigfoot is real... because I can say that I believe, go to church and try to be the best person I can be..but internally still hesitate at the word of god or god..then those things would all be for appearances to man because god would know whats in my heart....right? Because if people do these things because 100% they felt and still feel something from god inside them....I don't...if I didn't want to believe it why bother to look...maybe some people were meant for hell , because if God is real..thats where I belong.

Hello friend. Thank you for your heartfelt post. We are all on a journey through a difficult world, being hurt and hurting others. As I read your words, I can't help but sense that God is calling you with His love. Jesus said, "Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” Keep seeking Him. Although we, as His people, are weak and wrestle to throw off our sin, He works through redeemed humans to work good. Although imperfect, you are much more likely to hear God's voice and be touched by His life-changing love in a caring, Bible-believing, local church. I'm so glad I found a friend (very imperfect, but caring) who invited me to a church where my life was radically altered by God. The theoretical possibility that God existed, or that Jesus is who the Bible says He is, melted away in one instant when the Lord opened my heart. May He do the same in your life and give you great joy.

I rather give thanks to the doctors and scientists that have been helping me” He didn’t want to hear about praying for him anymore. He is in a same sex relationship and has been for years and angry that God doesn’t heal him. This message seems great to send him. I like the part about Holiness and that desires produce Holiness. Is there any other podcast that talk about being gay and the truth of God? In the Bible and a message from pastor John that helps bring the Bible out like a pop up book? That will get him the truth without feeling like it’s a religion, but get him to believe it’s a true relationship with Jesus Christ?

Natasha Let me please be straight forward with you since this is only a quick response to your comment or I say question. First we follow christ we don't follow God. You said you are following God? Do you mean you were born again or just decided one day you were going to believe in God and follow him. We must learn to follow and obey Jesus. Jesus said we must obey him as he obeyed the father. Jesus is our example, and we must walk as he walked. Until you truly understand we must live walk obey and die to ourselves like Jesus did. We must come to the cross and die to ourselves and the world just as Jesus did. You will always live lost in this world. Every day we must take up the cross and die to ourselves and follow Jesus or we will never find the life christ offers us. If you just go to church and live the life you want to best suit your desires in this life, the road you will travel will never conduct to eternal life. Start reading the Sermon on the mount, which is Matthew chapters 5,6,7 read it every day until you know it better than you know anything else in your life. Then, you will have the start of learning to obey Jesus and truly understand the will of God. Jesus explains the narrow way in this passage of scripture and it is the only path that Jesus said leads to life. Jesus said if you don't build your foundation of your life on these sayings that when you stand before him, your life built on anything else but these teachings will not stand up to his judgment.

We all have sinned and fell short of the glory to God. The problem is, that God is holy and doesn’t live with sin. So we all deserve to go to hell, but Jesus paid the price so you don’t have to. All you have to do is confess Jesus as your savior and repent (turn from all sin) and you’ll can have eternal life.

1) Fear the Lord our God in Heaven. Fear His wrath and the fate of those who are not written in the Book of Life. Fear what happens to those who are abandoned by God and are separated from His grace. (Psalm 111:10, Job 28:26, Proverbs 9:10, etc) 2) Pray daily every morning, noon & night. Pray and ask for resilience against temptations and sin. Pray that the Lord shows you ways to avoid and stay away from those. (Acts 2: 42, Colossians 4:2, 1 Timothy 4:5) 3) Read the Scriptures daily and meditate on it all day. (2 Timothy 3:1617) 4) Be in a church that worships the Lord and join their fellowship. The Church helps every Christian to be complete (1 Corinthians 12:12-31) 5) Pick your best friends among good Christians. (Proverbs 27:17) 6) Stay away from sinful and ill-behaving people. Most of them aren’t Christians. (Proverbs 14: 7-31) 7) Talk to your Pastor, Priest, Minister, or Elders for more advice. It is better that you consistently see them like have coffee with them every now and then, and not only when you’re in trouble or have a problem. 8) Share you faith and always be prepared to defend your faith. 9) Yes. Fasting helps; when you can do it. Some people who are sickly cannot do this. God knows who can. So, He understands if you cannot. 10) Try all these and be righteous through our Lord Jesus. Always have confidence that God will be with you always and in everything you do.

Honestly, the truth is NOBODY knows GOD's will period. Cause GOD is infinite and everlasting! We don't even know each others plan when we meet up with friends or family how much more knowing GOD's will? Cause GOD's will is his plan each day so to speak. The closest we can get to the will of GOD is read HIS word and have a true relationship with HIM & then completely ALLOW GOD to control our life each day. Meaning, being "mindful" with your walk in life cause you are now a child of GOD. That's what having a relationship with GOD is. When you are "mindful" with your walk in life cause you now know that you have a true relationship with GOD then you are walking in HIS will. That's really the closest we can get to HIS will. When it becomes HIS righteousness? When it becomes HIS good works? You are closer to GODs will. At the end of the day? HE is the authority. Only HIM knows. But when you walk with GOD and allow HIM completely in your life then GOD's influence will change you from GLORY TO GLORY! It's really not rocket science but this dying and scheming world complicates it. So many traps and deceiving from satan to influence us and that is why we need the influence in GOD. We have to make a choice! GOD loves you and I so much that HE will not force or impose HIMSELF into our lives. GOD's love is NOT wealth, health and prosperity like these false teachers are preaching but simply sending HIS LOVE. (His only begotten son JESUS CHRIST) to influence us from this corrupt world cause it is all about influences! We need to be influence from the things above! Lastly, GOD LOVE is sending HIS only son as a way out of this demonic world. JESUS CHRIST should be our influence each day and the way out this sinful world.

Its actually found in his very prayer to the father. Thy will b done thy kindom come on earth as it is in heaven. fear him for that is the beginning of wisdom and if we truly love him as he told peter we are called to b a kingdom of priests and kings to spread the eternal word of salvation to a crying nation, the seven churches⛪of the world. We are called to glorify him, the glory of the holy spirit of god in christ's resurrection. lets memorize him readily this memorial day. his word his message in the spirit to the seven fold lampstand and the seven stars in his right hand. so having the eternal word of god the word of salvation the spirit of christ the spirit of god the holy spirit is like being in heaven the kingdom of heaven the kingdom of god heaven on earth 🌎.

Hi, very thorough expose, thank you. However, I do have to ask you, why did you leave out the gift of prophecy in Romans 12:6? You left off that part of 12:6 and jumped to 12:7, the gift of service and then read on from there. I am actually called to the gift of prophecy, and all of your points have lined up with this my entire life of 61 years, and my entire walk with Christ of 46 years. It’s kind of dumbfounding to me that you would leave that out, and I hope that you will answer with a reason why. Thank you.

(1Corinthians 1:23) Paul's theological response to the Corinthian's self-absorption was as offensive to religious people "Jews" and other intellectuals "Greeks" then as it is now. The former seek miraculous signs in the heavens, and the latter demand proof. God accommodates neither expression of self-centeredness; instead, God has displayed his wisdom and power in the most unlikely place-- in the terrible crucifixion of the messiah. Yet, in the message of the cross, God has reached down and dirtied his hands, revealing his love, mercy, and forgiveness in the process, humbling the proud and overturning human opinion about Greatness. Ironically, God's greatness is evidenced by the depth to which he is willing to go to rescue humans from sin.

Ask Pastor John if I can be saved even after three marriages. I am currently married to my third wife. The first two divorced me. I'm struggling with the guilt of the whole thing and I'm not certain I'm savable. Thanks for any advice.
@dattaffy86854 жыл бұрын
This is what apostle Paul writes in the book of Romans. "And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow-not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below-indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord." If we acknowledge our sin, Jesus is faithful to forgive us when we are repentant. Yes, you are still saveable. Read the whole chapter of Romans 8. In the chapter, Paul states, "So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus." Guilt is good because it brings us to repentance. Guilt becomes bad when we ask Jesus to forgive us and we still hold on to the guilt.
