Let's say that you want to hard wire a Blu Ray streaming device to get past the limitations and fickleness of WiFi. I assume that you want the last item that you discussed, because your computer may be turned off and you may want to watch a movie. The blue ray is asking for other pieces of info such as "Sub-mask". Some ISPs give out Dynamic IPs so you would have to check for your external IP everyday or when ever you ISP changes your IP

none of this worked for me. I can find the IP address in a round about way, but my cell won't let me enter it since it brings up the telephone key pad when it asks me to enter the IP address and there is not dot on the the key pad to key between the numbers.
