Tbh, I’ll be a bit suspicious if the startup will tell me right after interview/discussion that they are ready to hire me. This would definitely signal that they might have issues with the processed and rushing to hire, since can’t plan in advance accordingly trying to plug some holes quickly.

Median pay for top talent? That's where you lost me 😂 Sounds like we don't all have the same definition of "great"

Thanks for adding your thoughts. I don't know what your definition of great is, but mine is excellence. Top talent, in my experience, wants a lot more than being paid the highest salary. They want to work with great people in a great work environment for a great company. Paying at top end, in my experience, leads to mercenaries. Violate this at your own risk.
