HOW DO I KNOW WHICH MASCARAS ARE “TUBING”….🤔

Is @LorealParis new Panorama mascara a tubing mascara? Not in the traditional sense. Tubing mascaras form tiny, water-resistant tubes around each one of your lashes. Unlike traditional mascaras, tubing mascara are designed with a higher level of film former helping them achieve their smudge or flake free nature, so it’s great for long-wear. Although Panorama does have some of these attributes, you have to remove it with soap and water which eliminates it from the pure tubing category right off the bat. Tubing mascara is easily removed with only warm water which causes those little tubes to slide right off by gently sliding them off the lash with your fingers. So no, Loreal’s Panorama mascara is not technically a tubing mascara. But it's fair to say she's tubing adjacent. If you’re looking for tubing mascara, the brands will definitely let you know whether or not the mascara you’re looking at is tubing in the marketing. If you’re looking for tubing adjacent attributes and a mascara isn’t called tubing, look out for marketing claims like flake free and smudge free. But you’ll need something more to break the formula down on those, vs. traditional tubing which come out much easier with just water. Now you know!

My preferred tubing mascara that I’ve used for YEARS is the blinc amplified mascara. The brush is great and I love how it applies/removes. I wore it for my wedding and still wear it. It is $26 a tube, but none of the other tubing mascaras I’ve tried lately even remotely compare.

I tried that one and the original blic tubing mascaras. Now I love thrive and it lasts longer. I did notice that the first 2 weeks it was too wet but it dried down perfectly and I've been using it well for wayyyyyyy to long. So much product. It's also easy to get off of your eye lids etc. I'm trying maybe tower 28 but im scared bc she said it's not truly tubing.

The Catrice "Glam Doll Easy Wash Off" is btw the cheapest tubing mascara I've found. Never going back to regular or higher end.

The absolute BEST example of a tubing mascara would be the Throve Cosmetics Liquid Lash Extensions- they seemed to have revolutionized the “tubing” mascara and it still remains an incredible option. For a very great dupe of that is the Maybelline Lash Sensational Sky High! With or without the primer it’s a great product, I prefer no primer.

Huh, I’ve been using this mascara since Jan and it behaves like a tubing mascara. I never use soap to take it off. It just needs warm water and wash cloth (or just water and my fingers if I’m in the shower). It also has STYRENE/ACRYLATES/AMMONIUM METHACRYLATE COPOLYMER in it which I thought was one of the ingredients that make tubing mascaras tube. L’Oreal’s Double Extend Beauty tubes mascara has this ingredient as does Blac Tubular Mascara. Thrive and Milani use Acrylates/Ethylhexyl Acrylate Copolymer, which seems similar.

I bought the Ulta brand of tubing mascara a few days ago. I used it only once but was really pleased with the removal of it, even if it did look like spider legs…lol. Two other tubing mascaras I used in the past left schmears under my eyes.

Thrive I believe is tubing. I love wetting my fingers and gently lifting the mascara off my lashes. It’s like itty bitty spaghetti

Omg thank you so much. I didn't know that tower 28 isn't a real tubing mascara like thrive. I just bought tower 28 in drift on the sale and I'm still waiting for it. Sadly now I don't think I will even try it on and either gift it or return it. I'm addicted to true rubbing mascara.

I find it sort of pointless to have a tubing mascara because I still need a makeup remover for my eyeliner to come off. So maybe it removes a touch easier than non tubing but it’s 90% the same experience at the end of the day. I guess it’s good for people who only wear mascara or don’t wear eye primer/bases at all.

Not really, there are tubing mascaras that don’t have it on the packaging or the tube itself. I always look through the ingredients list.

Brands never say they’ve made a tubing mascara, it says on their website that it uses stretch flex technology which points to tubing also it has many of the ingredients that are in a tubing mascara according to a list that cosmopolitan made

Fifteen years ago, Sephora sold a tubing mascara that I bought again and again until they discontinued carrying the brand… I wish I knew what it was - it came in a red tube I think, might have been a Japanese brand. It was the best. ❤

I have to use tubing mascara because my eyelids are so oily any other mascara (even waterproof ones) gives me panda eyes. I'm glad there's more brands getting into it.

@suetruong9990 I used to use the Japanese Heroine Makeup brand's tubing mascara and blinc's. I've been liking Merit's tubing mascara for everyday use or Milani's one. Heard brands like kvd have been branching out lately but I've yet to try them

I LOVE tube mascaras! I’ve been using one from the drug store, one side is white and the other side is red, and the clean up is SO easy and no mess. Been using it as long as I can remember. (Since I was like 14/16)

The panorama is so hard to take off, I’ve used just water and it works it just takes a long time and I’ve used micellar water on a cotton pad and it takes a long time, the ilia mascara is super easy to take off and it doesn’t flake

Which also implies that if you have eyes that lean more sensitive, or watery; you should probably avoid a mascara with high water solubility. You don’t want that product breaking down throughout the day.

I had a really cheap mascara that came in this massive makeup bundle gifted from an uncle. It was terrible for coming off and just falling into my eyes so I'd have this black slime in my eye inner corners 😂 I presume a proper tubing mascara doesn't do that even if it's water soluble and could come off due to sweat?

i got a tubing mascara because of the hype, but didn’t like it because the rest of my makeup is not water soluble so I had to use water to remove the mascara and then still use makeup remover for my eyeliner, etc.

They may come off, but they would fall off in tubes rather than smudging or running down your face. It would look like a little eyelash coming off, but that just the tube. It always surprises me that I can take a nap with tubing mascara on and not wake up with some form of raccoon eye
